Leaving politics aside for a while if that is even possible, one impressive way to 'turbocharge' the big landmass and its people, America and Canada, would be to wipe away the border which stunts progress, divides people, restricts FREEDOM and creates tension at times. Elon Musk or some other wealthy person with influence should be able to fork out some money to Canadian adults to make it happen since there are only about 33 million adults in Canada. Just think of Canadians as well as people from other nations who have gone to America to seek their fame and fortune and have been successful. A prime example would be S. African born Musk who spent three years in Canada, went south to America to seek his fame and fortune and is likely to become the world's first trillionaire. Canada has a shrinking GDP per capita which is a key indicator of prosperity, a weakening Canadian dollar, a weak military, inflation issues, national debt has doubled, an increasing cost of living and housing crisis. Canada is so dependent on the USA for its trade that it might as well join them. Some Canadians still think that they need a king ' hovering ' over them in these modern times who lives on a faraway island and does nothing for them but what they really do need are lower taxes and a strong (American) military to protect the arctic. Ownership of the Arctic means nothing if you can't defend it and Canada does not have the military to defend it, so the Arctic is fully dependent on the US for its protection. In April 2021 Putin filed a submission to extend a claim to the Arctic, all the way into the Canadian and Greenland (Denmark) continental shelf and economic zone, as part of Russia's continental shelf. This is a situation where they're claiming the entire Arctic Canadian and Danish continental shelf as part of the Russian continental shelf. In 2018 Beijing agreed it would cooperate with Russia on a new Arctic silk route, signing 20 bilateral documents and agreeing to invest in the region. As part of this, Beijing will build several Chinese docks across Russia's north in ports. Russia demands permission for ships to use the Northern Passage including the use of Russian pilot ships. Putin wants control of the Arctic trade routes and the natural resources in the Arctic. America is the only country so far that has put 12 men on the moon, returned them safely to earth again and that was roughly 50 years ago, so dont underestimate America. America is a very generous nation. One notable example would be the Marshall Plan which financed the rebuilding of western European nations after the devastation of WWII. If America and Canada united, it would be the world's largest country and would be over one million square miles larger than Russia. What a huge 'playground' we all would have with no border to restrict us-! This would be FREEDOM.

Welfare recipients don't get 1/4 of what these refugees get! Period! A single person on welfare receives approximately $930.00 per month, depending on what province they live in. It's $733.00 per month in Ontario. That's "all" inclusive! It's to cover rent, heating. electricity & water bills if not included in the rent, phone, internet, food, clothing, toiletries, . . . absolutely everything! Try having any type of a celebration, birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, . . . . anything on that type of budget.

If there are that many immigrants flooding into Canada. There will be an Opportunity to employ them as Border Security. If you use the 500,000 per year immigration numbers, you would have about 91 immigrants per mile of the 5525 mile Canada-US Border. That means Canada will now have a use for these immigrants. 231 immigrants for every Kilometer. Or 1 immigrant every 4.3 meters. Perfect Security.

There is no way anyone would go for that. Not when there are Instagram pages made by Indian immigrants showing how to breach the border, and not when Canadian immigration "specialists" are teaching immigrants how to get asylum when they don't qualify. I can't really think of a worse idea, really, when Canada is obviously having issues not only with mass immigration, but also can't be bothered to vet anyone anymore and has let masses of t*rr*rists into the country, but also serious issues with foreign interference. Besides, there are TONS of Canadian born people who need jobs. That'd probably be the more prudent way to take care of it.
