Pierre de Ronsard ® /Eden Rose Meiviolin growing as large shrub and blooming throughout summer

Wow, I didn't know you can buy the rose and use it as a shrub. I always thought you have to have a support system otherwise you can't have a nice climber rose in your garden. I am happy to see I was wrong.

hello, i have couple of questions are you using standard rosa canina or another type of rose used as rootstock in your varieties? How is the root behavior of the rootstock on which you are grafting? Or do the rootstocks you use change according to the rose varieties? (I ask without implying cane roses) bene vale

Hi, We are a breeder, not a grower. So we are testing our varieties prior to commercialization on many types of rootstock and even on their own roots in ph 8.2 and ph 6.2. For sure, the reaction will depend on the variety. And if the variety isn't adapted to the rootstock of the local industry, we will not release it locally.

It will depend on your climate and soil and your technic of growing. On average, It can be use as a climber (2 to 3m) or a shrub (1 to 2m).

Oui c'est tout a fait possible. Vous pouvez même l'utiliser en haie car il fleuri dès la 1ere année de plantation et donc vous pouvez controler sa hauteur sans perdre de la floraison. Non, visiblement il n'y a aucun support sur ce rosier ;) Bien à vous

No, the stems are quite strong, and you can also use it as a bush ;)

Use it the same way you are using any bush rose. You just need to cut the climbing canes at the end of spring to size it the way you want. ;) @@townshipbs2335

@@townshipbs2335 If you using it as a bush, there will be 2 cut backs, one at the end of spring to maintain the bush size and avoid climbing stems, one at the end of the winter like any other modern bush.

@@Meillandroses Yes I know how to search the PBR Australian Database and its obvious that the variety 'Meiviolin' has never had Plant Breeders Rights in Australia Why then does it say ''Propagation Prohibited ''on your label for' Meiviolin' in Australia?

@@hermit20082012 Weird because to our knowledge, Meiviolin has the Australian Patent No: AU-B-14689/88, maybe you should check with the proper authorities ?
