Domaine Clos de la Chapelle, a fascinating revival of an old Burgundy domaine based around the eponymous, historic Volnay 1er Cru Monopole Clos de la Chapelle, was resurrected by life-long Burgundy lover Mark O’Connell in 2011, and our dear friend Pierre Meurgey. Domaine Clos de la Chapelle is headquartered at the Château de Bligny, owned by Pierre and no less than Dominique Lafon. The Domaine owns 1.5 hectares in Volnay, Pommard, Meursault, Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and the recent addition of a small parcel in Beaune.
Pierre Meurgey is a fourth generation winemaker who also bottles some incredible wines under his own name. Here he talks about the Domaines' 2023 vintage.
