Martin never told Pierre "Come out to L.A. I got you." He said in Pierre's words "It's more opportunities in L.A." in other words "You can get to the bag out in L.A. because they're just throwing money at comics".....as you can see from this video Pierre is a bitter complaining chatty patty.....and admitted he was talking shit about the man. I FEEL what Pierre is saying. I'm not in 'show bid'ness', but I will never forget, in my first "real" (full-time) job, there was an Italian guy who was a few years older than me, where we kinda' 'hit it off' and he took me under his wing, and showed me the ropes. He certainly did not have to do that. And, because of his kindness and generosity, I've always gone out of my way to help out rookies (who act like they have some sense). There are ways to help people that don't cost you ANYTHING. If they are receptive and appreciative.............cool. If they're not...............cool. Damn shame that a few comedians who've achieved fame & fortune (whether it's just a group of guys who all get along OR, as Pierre is saying, a group of guys from the same city/state) were not able or interested in opening a regional chain of comedy clubs. I don't even know if comedy clubs are a 'thing' outside of a handful of major cities. I live in a very large population center (but not a major city), and I can only think of one comedy club off top.
