Martin is my favorite comedian has always been. As an adult I’ve heard other celebs speak on how Marty was moving in the 90s, even his own cast mates from Martin. It’s safe to say he was definitely feeling himself during the height of his career and treated some ppl like shit. It’s also safe to say that life has humbled him based on his latest interviews during the BB3 promo
@HovaNirvana Жыл бұрын
He’s a genius and the greatest sitcom actor ever, but I have also heard less than great stories about him at the height of the “Martin” era. But to be fair - Dave Chappelle loves him and claims that he always supported him during his come-up. He also put Dave in some things before his own star blew.

@@louiewavey3687 Martin fought to get Dave into Blue Streak. His role was way smaller than it was. Dave tells this story....he was only supposed to appear once in that film. Martin also got him into Def Comedy Jam. These are words from Dave's mouth. Yes, Dave had a few roles but he credits Martin and Eddie with giving him looks to pop off. Martin never told Pierre "Come out to L.A. I got you." He said in Pierre's words "It's more opportunities in L.A." in other words "You can get to the bag out in L.A. because they're just throwing money at comics".....as you can see from this video Pierre is a bitter complaining chatty patty.....and admitted he was talking shit about the man. People don't like fucking with dudes like that who always expect a handout. Pierre took Martin's advice and moved to L.A. and what happened he got to some money and got in a few classic films. I use to always think he was handsome and sexy when I use to see him back in the day. I knew he was married so I could never cross that boundary. I love the scene when he cut his hair in BAPS. He was looking so handsome when he came to get Halle Berry... He has always been a down to earth cool guy. I wish he would have crossed over and got bigger opportunities. I've always rooted for Pierre and wanted to see him succeed.

Went to go "get in" the biz and the home boys I knew out there totally flipped like they weren't from LeDroit park here in DC. Like we didn't grow up together, high school all that. Hollywood! .. From Georgia Ave to Sunset and Hollywood blvd... one homie did try to help me out and told me not to leave LA.. "Pinky" Clifton Powell..

Pierre Edwards was born in Texas and later his family moved to Washington, D.C. He too is not a native Washingtonian, however, I enjoyed seeing him in the movies B*A*P*S and How to Be a Player. I am glad he is still around doing well. If Pierre were ever to appear in Mid-Town D.C. at the DC Improv Comedy Club and Underground Comedy on Connecticut Avenue, NW or at the Comedy Club DC in Adams Morgan D.C., this native Washingtonian and D.C. resident would go see him perform.

I FEEL what Pierre is saying. I'm not in 'show bid'ness', but I will never forget, in my first "real" (full-time) job, there was an Italian guy who was a few years older than me, where we kinda' 'hit it off' and he took me under his wing, and showed me the ropes. He certainly did not have to do that. And, because of his kindness and generosity, I've always gone out of my way to help out rookies (who act like they have some sense). There are ways to help people that don't cost you ANYTHING. If they are receptive and appreciative.............cool. If they're not...............cool. Damn shame that a few comedians who've achieved fame & fortune (whether it's just a group of guys who all get along OR, as Pierre is saying, a group of guys from the same city/state) were not able or interested in opening a regional chain of comedy clubs. I don't even know if comedy clubs are a 'thing' outside of a handful of major cities. I live in a very large population center (but not a major city), and I can only think of one comedy club off top.
