@lastpostbugler9 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Hartnett " A good humble man" we must have watched different shows. Grylls is "nothing" without a T.V. Crew behind him.
@DreKC9 жыл бұрын
The only reason why he has a crew with him is because it is required by law as a safety regulation. This does not diminish the fact that his shows have educational and useful purposes. He is well accomplished, in fact, at the age of 23 he was one of the youngest to climb Everest, among other things. He is a good man, and yes, he is humble, because he is not arrogant or pompous despite being so accomplished. He is someone I have looked up to since I was a kid, and inspired me to persevere through difficult times. So I am sorry, but I disagree with your opinion.
@lastpostbugler9 жыл бұрын
Which indeed I entirely respect you for, young man. However, regarding your comment as to the T.V. Crew, I too had the privilege of serving in H.M. Armed forces; & for the vast majority of my career in a green uniform the media were no where to be seen. Grylls was & is a " showman" albeit one has earned the coveted "sand-lid" as a T/A volunteer reserve soldier. I, Like many thousands of others did the job for real. Without the knowledge that we would be removing ourselves to a nearby travel lodge to both re coupe & re group prior to the next days ...no doubt arduous filming schedule . However, we all need so called "heroes" Personally, one of mine was Mr John "Lofty" Wiseman. Ex R.S.M. ( 22 S.A.S. regt:) You may note his comments re: Mr. Grylls. as being that of a :- "Glorified boy scout" ( alas , his words proved "VERY" true)

16:15 That is the most honest and appropriate answer to that question. I learned that in high school, it was year 10 and the woodwork teacher was substituting for our English class and I found out he was a Vietnam veteran. I asked that very same question, he just looked at me and said with the most stern look on his face "We don't talk about it" some questions are not meant to be asked, I'm glad I learned that then. A response like Bears is all the information you'd ever need. So much respect for this man.

Lots of survivalists see him as a "fake" i wonder, how many video's they can show me. To convince me they're just as bad ass as he is. He is so down to earth, and anything but fake. This man, brings awesome entertainment, and shows some really good survival tips. And for the people, that say "His team was there to help him with everything" utter bullshit, it's true he needed in some occasion help. That's a part not even being denied, he does way more daring shit then i seen "real" survivalists do. Love his show, and down to earth personality

Bear Grylls...absolute legend and should be an inspiration to every parent on the planet...shame on anyone who tries to smear his name
@lastpostbugler9 жыл бұрын
In that case Si Krushner, I am about to "do" JUST that. Contrary to what 90% of you civilians out there are given to believe , It has to be said by Mr Grylls himself. Yes, he served in 21st Territorial Army SAS, Echo Sqn....( Known by the regular troops as Week End Warriors) However & totally contrary to what Mr Grylls implies he has & Never was sent on any Live black opp with the Regiment. Such "trips" are purely down to the regular British army 22 Regiment In other words Mr Grylls is a Bravo Sierra merchant Or, as Regimental Sergeant Major (Rtd) John "Lofty" Wiseman one of the worlds leading & most respected special forces experts in survival & ex SAS escape & evasion guru , Instructor 22 Reg ( The firm) describes him & I Quote ""AN Idiot" Mr Grylls you can fool some of the people some of the time, with your B/S. However, the likes of "Lofty" invented Special forces survival training & E&E & Regard people like you as little more than Publicity "Show boaters" & YOU, Mr Grylls are certainly no "GRAY MAN" . That all said I dare say Mr Grylls is laughing all the way to the bank with his tales of a T/A/ Soldier whom the sas rely on to carry out all sorts of secret "black- opps"......NOT!!!!! & Helicopter opps.!!!!!

Let alone did he ever engage in secret covert ( Black ops Trips) so WHY say it when there are sandy lids out there who are well aware that he is talking Bravo Sierra However, due to PERSEC can not speak out.

Yeah I had always wondered that myself, it WAS an interesting question, but the way in which Bear answered it was very mature I think. Bear is a genuine hero of mine, seen as I am in the British army, and if he wants to keep that information to himself, then fair play to him. An incredible human being, proving what can be done through determination, he always presents himself so efficiently and whenever I read his books or watch his shows, he really inspires me. I think we are lucky to be observant of this period of history where Bear is alive and active, because I think he will, and should be, remembered for a long time.

He should ABSOLUTELY NOT REGRET HAVING STAYED WITH HIS FAMILY IN THE B&B. HE DID THE RIGHT THING. His son was newborn, A NEWBORN CHILD SHOULD COME FIRST!!! It was a ridiculous attack by a story hungry media--and he should remember that if he wants to put his family first. Only idiots would not understand that he is SHOWING you what techniques and tools people can use to survive, rather than actually putting himself in a survival situation himself. He already risks his safety more than enough, by showing us these techniques in the first place. He doesn't need to amplify that risk by unnecessarily placing himself in a survival situation--THAT WOULD BE STUPID!!! It's called TV people. If the show purported to be a survival show, then it would've been false advertising, but it didn't--it always said, "I'm going to show you how to survive"...

Huge respect to Bear,i am from Nepal country of Everest or as we call it Sagarmatha but i just want to point out a fact that these days climbing Everest looks more like matter of money than courage,3 days ago we had the biggest summit rush in the history of climbing more than 150 people climbed in a single day.I just fear that Everest is loosing its legacy.

They should put Piers on a mountain and just film his slow painful death.
