I am from North Carolina and we cslled this cake a Pig Picking Cake. We added some coconut and cherries to icing and nuts, your choice. It is a very good cake.

I’m not a fan of mandarin in cake but I love pineapple do u suggest anything else to go along wit the pineapple ... I can’t wait to try that whipped topping

Lol! She looks more like you but right @ 14:14 when she said "I taste pineapple" she made a face just like Lissy's & that's where she resembled her. I still think Lissy looks a lot like your mama. When you guys were making those pasteles I really saw the resemblance between Lissy & your mom! You're all beautiful anyway. =)

I made it 3x already; it's so good. The 2nd cake I made I added a 1/2 a tsp of coconut flavoring, and coconut flakes to the batter. Yum it's addictive.

@@gabyivette66 The 1st time I made it i loved it so much I made the mistake of taking some to work with me for my lunch. Well unfortunately I didn't get to eat it cause my boss took a bite and snatched it out from under me then proceeded to blackmail me into making the 2nd for the company party. The 3rd one was because I was being greedy and wanted to try it with coconut; which I made on the worst day because my MOM came over to chat, and dumb me gave her a piece and now I have to make another one for her. I tried to give her the recipe, but hell naw my Mom has gotten lazy in her old age, and she point blank told me that's why she has grown kids now to do all the dirty work for her so she can reap the damn reward. SMDH
