Mine does this too! We call it “smoosh” bc originally as a baby he started this by cuddling near our feet and wanting to be smooshed lightly by them similar to what you’re doing with your hand here. Now he takes them however he can get them. So sweet. Pigeons are the best!

You raise one. Even then you'll need to be a bit lucky with personality. Pigeons can be... odd birds. Some of them are more happy sitting on your head and pooping everywhere.

I used to breed pigeons. My favorites were a breed called "parlor tumblers". They didn't fly but instead did back flips. I also had some homers and a few "mutt" pigeons. Pigeons are also very delicious.

When I was a kid, i found a pigeon that seemed too old ,heavy or unwilling to fly around . I was worried that an animal or mean kid would hurt it , And took it home. He was quite a nice pet , very docile and acted happy to be taken in. A nieghbor boy stole him from his pen in our apartment lobby , but at least he seemed to be caring for him.

@@palomapolemica7019 some pigeons genuinely are just like that though, I’m guessing their pigeon is a pet and is tame, and is just natured that way. I’ve been around a lot of hand reared pigeons and they all turn out differently with different personalities and temperaments, some are naturally cuddly and affectionate and others aren’t lol. I have a pet pigeon myself too :D

For anyone who wants a tame pigeon like this then here is how First of all you need a place and make sure that it's enough for the pigeons to fly and walk Also give them a house.They need shelter when it's raining (Dont open the door of the place they WILL fly out) Anyways,buy a female and Male pigeon and try to make friends with them If it doesn't work that's okay! Then wait for the female to lay eggs and there you go the babies are yours And ofc take good care of the babies so they know that you mean no harm Also, DONT touch the eggs the female has laid.If you do then they will break the egg Hope this helped

i was a owner of two rescued young pigeons some years ago. their parents sadly died due to something. but my fathers friend own a bird protection. so thats where i took care of them. of course i had to let live their own life when they learnt to fly. they loved to get petted, they loved to be held. and they loved cuddles.
