I took in a fledgling pigeon from the street on dec23, 2022 because that day there was a Boom Cyclone hitting NYC with 30 mph winds and temperatures dropping drastically from 50 to 6 degrees (!) in a couple of hours . I had save this baby or he would of froze to death. I learned from KZbin how to feed him and he’s now a beauty.. I keep him locked in my bathroom ( I have cats) and he’s free to fly and eat and even bathe in there. I showed him a bunch of videos of pigeons eating and he would get excited and squeal thinking they were his parents.. and tries to eat and peck at the seeds on the screen…so cute and sad also. He’s about 60 days old now and sooo intelligent. His instinct to want to take a shower , kicked in. Under gentle warm running water in the bathroom sink as water was running he lay under and would open up his wing under arm to let the water wash there..and all over. So adorable! However, I now notice he’s a bit frustrated.. he tries to bite my hand. So I contacted a friend that has a pigeon coop and he said he will take him when he returns from vacation. I can’t free him into the wild .. since he has no survival training. I’m hoping that when he goes to the pigeon coup .. he will slowly be acclimated with his own kind and fly free like he was meant to be. I ❤ 🐦

I don't know about the Netherlands, where this was filmed, but there are colonies of feral green parakeets living in several places in the UK. Probably descend from escaped pets, but wild birds now.
