Here’s the best written explanation I can give: When they were younger children, willow and Williams parents got arrested for what could potentially be stealing for the good of there kids. But for legal purposes they could not put the children in any housing. After time of owning the property, daisy discovered where they had been “living” and seeing as she was alone, she chose to help them. She gave them food, care, and William truly felt like she was one of them. But after the infection started daisy got a letter saying she could join the military, and she left in hope to find something to help both her and Willow and William. When she left William felt neglect, that willow cared less then he did when she let daisy go. So William left in search of daisy, thinking willow didn’t care anymore.

(Theory!) After Willows parents were taken by the police she hated cops and vowed to protect her brother after her parents were taken away. When you find Willow in Chapter 1 Book 2 She had just lost her brother William. You can tell because if you replay the and Finish Chapter 1 Book 2 If you look at the walls in the two cutscene's the are the same walls and same 2 beds on the floor! Here's The best Story of Willows Backstory: So when willow and William were kids, Their parents had no food, So the only thing they could do is Steal Food for the Good, but for illegal purposes the couldn't put there own children in any home. William and willow backstory: After Willow and william's parents has been caught by the police willow and william has to defend themself and they've been tired and starving. They're neighbor daisy heard them cry and went to investigate. Daisy would happily foster for them. After a few days william has considered daisy as his real mother. One day daisy got a call that they needed her to come to the military base. Daisy went while william told her to not go but she said: "i can't stay William". And after that willow found it quite difficult to look after William. He won't do anything she told him or asked him to do. So Willow went outside and she found a pie, she bringed the pie back to the house and she found William's scarf and he was nowhere to be found.
