Honestly, Jess is keeping me going. I’m struggling with a abusive dad and I’m talking to childline daily through their email service. If it wasn’t for her, I would be so bored and lost in my thoughts. (20/6/22): Wow okay, I entirely forgot this existed, the way I talk today is so different,, seeing this dosent even feel like me LOL. I’m actually graduating this year, I have prom in 9 days and I’m on my last two exams, one I’m heading to right now as I type! Unfortunately, childline was no help. They talked to me like they were a robot, and it really didn’t help with the feeling of derealisation. My dad has sadly, gotten worse and has made several threats for some really scary things, but recently I have actually contacted my school. They’re ‘somewhat’ sorting some therapy for me, however I have quite a fair lot of distrust in them. I want to express that things arnt all bad at the moment, I am struggling but not to a point where I am under harm of myself. I now actually, have a boyfriend of what, 7 months? He’s amazing and supporting me through it all,, sadly I can’t go to his as it is, long distance,, but when I’m finished with college I’m travelling across the ocean to move in with him :) if it wasn’t for him, and some new friends I got along the way, I wouldn’t be happier. My lows are pretty dang low, but my highs are getting me through it. Thankyou for all the support, I hope you’re all doing well. -and to anyone who sees this, struggling with a similar situation, or just a hard situation at all, please not that you are valid, you are loved. Elaine Sweetland I didn’t contact the police, I chose to go with childline because police wouldn’t do much. My dad is friends with multiple police men :(
