Was at Piha February 02. There was no-one surfing, and the waves looked twice as high. Probably dangerous that day!! Had a difficult time getting out,was getting washed up and down the beach!! There is a creature living in N.Z. that EATS ROOTS SHOOTS and LEAVES , do you know what this is?
