This! The kids ones will probably even be cheaper. I would exchange them, it’s really bad on your feet and legs to walk in shoes that don’t fit, especially loose ones that you’ll be trying to keep from falling off.

Also, Birkenstocks are suppose to form to your feet cuz the curve in the sole has to meet your arch perfectly or it won’t be comfortable… so buying a size that’s too big will make them super uncomfortable!!

Make sure you wear your birks lots inside this winter to break them in, initially they will be uncomfortable but honestly they need to warm up to mold to your feet! You will lovw them!

My favorite gift was my surprise gift from my Christmas person a Gamera shirt in bright yellow. My family (5 of us) secret swap names, then they get a list of 5 things that person likes with no gift over $60 and they choose a secret gift they think you will love. My Santa was my son Daniel. He bought me everything on my list! Which was so sweet but that Gamera shirt kicks ass.

I relate with the dinner meal. I didn't see my Aunt since 2018 and she was so happy to see me she spent her only day off to herself making a second holiday dinner with snack table and everything for my arrival since I couldn't stay on the actual holiday when she was making the holiday dinner. Like your mom my aunt is "enough food for an army" LOL. Best gift, very touching. I would have been okay with hoagies.
