@@luansomething380 pikachu is not mainly about the combos. Although nair loops will significantly improve your chances of winning, pika has many other outstanding tools.

Ok here’s one to start you off. Map jump to R and do control stick right, a, and R all at the same time. Just keep doing it across the whole stage. I promise it’s easy, you’ll pick it up quickly. Try bair too!

I find it sort of frustrating having to spend weeks to learn this complex combo to do 70% just to have kazuya randomly kick me twice and do same damage.

As a Terry main, I've learned that it's not the damage output that matters as much as it is overall control off of that damage. Kazuya hits crazy hard but struggles to maintain advantage state, and you're pretty much garunteed the stock if he's in disadvantage state. A decent combo is way more advantageous over a few strong hitting moves.

@@spiralanimations7736 you have to get comfortable with going off the ledge and edgeguard. If the enemy is offstage its much easier for pikachu to kill. It doesnt have to be something crazy. Often a simple fair or bair is enough

Pikachu is so creative!! Up tilts into most things are great and Pikachu is the only character I know of that can drag characters down into a grab combo/reset. If you’re struggling like I was to practice this, set training to a set %. Find where characters struggle to loop into the combo.

Btw, if you pay attention, there's actually di lines in this game. It's the blue line that appears when you hit someone. It's super noticable on down throw, I can get nair loops 100% on down throw even on online. Now I just need to figure out how to get down throw in loops 100% of the time.

Thanks to everyone in the comments! TL;DR: Down-throw or up-tilt into a buffered short hop (press two jump buttons during animation of last move). Then do a falling Nair and make sure to fastfall before the last hit. Then rinse and repeat. Di not buffer the Nair by pressing attack and jump at the same time because then it would be a *rising* Nair, it must be falling to combo. Make sure to let go of the jump buttons with good timing before pressing attack. IMO the tempo is similar to Fox's "down-tilt > rising fair > fastfall-dragdown > tech chase loop" if you're familiar with that combo. This is way better at low % though since it is a confirm instead of tech chase.

Personally, I set The L&R shoulder buttons to jump so I can short hop easily. In training mode, L+R+A is reset. So I usually short hop then immediately hit attack when I saw pika leaving the ground. If it doesn’t reset, it usually does the nair perfectly.

A few questions -Does hitting your opponent with the back of up tilt make the combo more consistent or can you do it either way and be consistent? -What is the best way to emulate realistic DI in training mode?

Either way works, you should be just fine against most characters (I've never had issues). As for DI you can turn shuffling on which helps a bit but you can't simulate the CPU to do DI that I'm aware of, though you can probably just have a friend help you, play online, or use a second remote and do your best to make it work.

Dejaun Smith Dont try to fast fall as soon as you start the nair. About halfway through the nair then fast fall. Took me about 30 tries but finally got the nair fast fall once, and now its happening alot more often.

OO I JUST DID 1 LOOP now i have to do like 4 more in a row a few times to get comfortable now and uhh EDIT: I DID 3 LOOP I did the down throw twice in a row and then one up tilt one Edit (again): i did it for what i think is 60% in training although i only did it on half speed setting and the cpu was just standing there it looked like it worked though
