jokes aside I appreciate that getting cracked is a thing. it's obvious to me that summit does not want this to be the main way to play antonblast though, given that they split each level into 3 seperate, clear communicated gamemodes, and the cracked run is nowhere acknowledged except in the result screen. I think this is the best way they could have gone about it, essentially giving casual players no feeling that they HAVE to play it like this in order to enjoy this fantastic game

Technically this game was in development before pizza time became more popular. And the game controls more differently then pizza tower.

this massive overhaul of boiler city is insane, idk if i like it _just_ yet. it looks good, dont get me wrong! but the drastic change from yellow to red just gave me massive whiplash lol. im sure ill get used to it over time!!!!

​They style of the rest of the game changed heavily during development, boiler city was the oldest tileset they were still using, they just updated it to fit with the blocky angular look

Oh my god they even made the point counter bigger by one digit so it won't overflow even if you do the infinite points glitch i showcased If Tony also made it so that the points you get off of a combo ending are number dependent rather than just the rank, i will kiss the man on the lips

Combo is limited only to this gameplay style, they removed that part from the plain playthough as probably it made people rush too much and was unclear esp when they changed the points system

turns out the points stay if you just keep replaying the same level (in the dynamite demo at least) so i just kept replaying boiler city til it overflowed lol

I think they might've changed Boiler City so it fits with how it looks in the opening cutscene, that, or the previous Boiler City in the demos was just a placeholder while they worked on this new one.

You know, i still feel extremely conflicted at Boiler City new design. Feels more stylish, there are neat palmtrees around, the Blimp area is more forgiving and the red buildings are hella cool. *The problem is the background.* I'm sorry Tony, but seriously i hate the new one, like actually hate. I think it's more of a my opinion, but yeah, the green sky ruins everything.

The old palate was very different to the style of the rest of the Game, taking from the tdsct the earliest versions Antonblast were more warioland, before the clutch boost mechanics

Based on observation, the level design isn't really made with Cracked to be possible without extremely good play. Some segments give you basically no leeway, in direct comparison to Pizza Tower.

Timing your clutch boost properly also allows you to keep your chain up indefinitely! I appreciate Antonblast's leeway a lot, PT is a bit too strict for my taste for me to like it lol

from personal experience, that is true. i think its primarily thanks to having a very strong meter refiller that can be executed consistently, if enough space is available. Antons moveset is way more simplified compared to Peppinos, and you only have to worry about 4 collectibles in each level, compared to the multitude of checks needed for P Ranks. I don't think this makes Antonblast "worse" or whatever btw, I'm sure a lot of players daunted by P ranks will appreciate the bigger leeway for Cracked runs.

do you need to have a point limit to get a cracked rank on a level or do you just need to collect the 4 bonus items bc this run seems to take some side paths that don't rly add to the ranking requirements otherwise like going to the bonus room above the exit door

When you do a clutch boost (the way you go really fast) the combo timer resets, really helpful for the combo mode

@@wills2894 really?? so the game rewards you with combo meter for simply going as fast as possible, that's a pretty cool incentive to keep playing aggressively instead of painstakingly collecting every collectible to keep your combo up.

And the CD discs (which where initially just turned into tapes in Dynamite Demo 2) have been split into three things: - a VHS tape (probably serves the same purpose as CDs) - a Spray Can (unlocks player palettes) - and a stage-specific Trinket (here it's the TV - unknown purpose)

Probably as you get here immediately as you boot, there is probably story that explains the destruction so they can go more wild as the game progresses
