When I was 14 I was up north at Crane Lake Minn with my Dad and bro. We were fishing the mouth of the little vermillion river. I hooked into a walleye and as I was reeling in, it would pull extemely hard from time to time. When I got it up next to the boat, it was revealed. A freakin monster Pike was devouring the walleye. Will never forget that.

Nice 🙂 same thing for me lol 14 years old northern Ontario Canada outside Sudbury, black electrical tape holding my Mitchell 300a got new mister twister ugly bug jig ..having fun catching perch I had one one so I thought pulled stopped dead thought I snagged the the line moved with that nice tight hum , circle's to boat and I see 14 plus pike with a hammer handle pike in mouth and jig in little pike ..reached for my net and he slapped my boat and gone .my brother in-law kept the little pike in a jar to show the size of teeth marks ..sigh ..I love fishing.

Honestly i think your content got me into fishing, funny enough. Never did it growing up but i just bought my first baitcaster for my second pole. Being somewhat in the world of baits and lures really made me appreciate hoe cool your stuff is.

I'm on my lunch break and went to our deli in Clinton, IA and when asked if I was going to eat my sandwich there or to go, I informed the nice woman that I was going to take my sandwich up the street to my house so I could watch a KZbin video of a guy who made a lure of a fish about to eat another lure but both are part of a lure. The older gentleman and his wife waiting in line behind me chuckled, and the man said, that sounds alright! I told him the guy is Marling Baits and he is in Iowa. When I got to the register, I asked for a pen and paper. The pen was secured, but the paper was harder to find, so I ended up using a deli order slip. You know the kind. I flipped it over and wrote, "MARLING BAITS - KZbin" and walked back to him in the sandwich line and said, "Sir, here you go." He took it, looking confused and then smiled after reading it and said, "Thanks!" So... that's how my dumb patter at the deli may have resulted in a new follower in Iowa. Maybe. I'm going to eat my 1/2 turkey sandwich now and then the cup of potato salad and then the thumbprint cookies.

Been watching for a while and would love to see a Rio Grande Chiclid lure. They are a native species in Texas and are the farthest north species of cichlids in the world. The big males have a big lumpy forehead, beautiful electric blue spots, and orange eyes. Sometimes they aren't super vibrant but I'm sure you could find some amazing references somewhere on the internet. As a Texas native I just recently learned about them so I'm sure many people watching have never heard about them. Great video and keep up the great content!

Once a year you should just do a day fishing with your best performing lures of the year - softbaits included. I’d love to watch you bring the annual best out to compete against each other! IT's 111 degrees outside as I'm watching this video. Next week it's forecast to get up to 116 degrees. I always get a kick out of folks on the internet from other parts of the country telling us how hot it is there. In Arizona it can be 100 degrees at midnight when the sun isn't even shining, and that can be with and without humidity.

@@KelseyDrummer We visited a cold part of Texas one during Christmas when I was younger. The residents there wore regular pants and maybe a light sweater or sweatshirt. I was so cold I couldn't hardly walk straight cause I was shivering so much. I understand that when folks say it's "Hot" they mean "Hot" according to what they are accustomed to so, I don't want to come off sounding like I'm trolling anyone when they mention the heat in their part of the country. It's just that what some folks consider "Hot" is close to ideal weather to other folks.
