I went to the top years ago on the train. At a certain height I was hit with the sensation of having had 5 or 6 alcoholic drinks due to an oxygen shortage. I loved it!

So sad "The Cog" has been shut down, but the latest news is a planned reopening in 2021. Let's hope that's true. It is a national treasure.

@@adamaasen4214 I rode it in 1957. Yep, you read that right! I was 10 years old. It would be great fun to ride again, and I hope the re-builders are on schedule. Now if we could just knock down this Covid thing......

I hope they reopen the cog train soon because i think it is a verry historical peace of colorado and i can say that it is a beautiful experience because i used to live in Colorado and i have been on the train.

When we went, the temperature in the valley was close to 100 degrees. When we reached the summit, it was snowing. One person in our group experienced some altitude sickness; the rest of us were fine.

visited last year, we had to drive up to Pikes Peak cause the Cog Railway shut down. I was disappointed. It is so beautiful, will go back.
