We recently bought the Lily & River version for our 2 year old daughter and I’d agree that these are such a great investment. I started researching when I found my daughter wanting to climb on everything and felt this would be a safer alternative. We also got the slide add-on and balance beam, and will probably get the arch down the road. Thanks as always for such a great review! From birth, I’ve made most purchases based on your reviews (Loveevery, Doona, car seats, potty learning stuff, JetKids, etc).

I’m glad my reviews are helping! It’s always nice to be able to offer our children a safe alternative instead of just telling them they can’t do it as this seems to just make them want to do it more.

Placed my order shortly after watching your video and received it within 6 days and I'm in Canada. My kids love it (1, 7 and 12)! I got the large size. My 12 yr old is small for his age so he's still able to climb and slide on it with the younger kids. I had already had it on my wish list and after seeing your recommendation I went ahead a bit the bullet. I just hope that the shop keepers are doing well given everything happening over there on that side of the world.

Wow 6 days that’s really fast! Glad to hear your children are enjoying the Pikler triangle. Hopefully they’re safe and doing well.

I felt same way you did at first my daughter wasn't interested in the particular triangle but when she turned 18 months she's on that thing all the time and she can't stop climbing.

Funny how they just randomly decide that they want to start playing with it.

This has been on my rolling list of potential gifts and I've never bought one because of the price. I suspect I will end up getting one when my daughter is 3 and we have more space. She's a massive climbing lover so it would be really helpful to provide that space when we can't get out

The price is pretty steep for these. I want even sure it was worth it after a year of owning into my son started climbing and seeing how much my daughter loves it pretty happy with it. Since you’re in Europe at least shipping times shouldn’t be bad.

Did you try anything to make it more attractive to your son when he wasn't using it? I'm asking because for us it truly seems a failed investment. Our kids are both climbers but show zero interest in the climbing triangle. A relative got our older toddler the triangle for her second birthday and we added a ramp. We went with the PlayWilderToys brand, which is pretty reasonable for one made in the US (also sold on etsy with frequent sales). Plus, they have a tall one, which is really important for tall toddlers. It's absolutely beautiful quality. I love it - sadly, the kids do not. Our older toddler climbed a bit here and there when we first got it, within weeks climbed over it but never showed any interest for more than 5 to 10 minutes per day. Then stopped any interaction. She loves using the slide we have as a tent even though it's so much smaller but never wanted to pretend play with the triangle. It's crazy - we get absolutely no use out of it. Fast forward, our older toddler is nearly 3 now, occassionally shows infrequent and short interest after I put it away for a bit. Even our 13 month old who usually climbs everything isn't interest. It's great that it's foldable - so at least it's mostly out of the way. When there was still no interest in the beginning of the summer (fellow Houstonian here, so always desperate for indoor gross motor activities during the summer months), we permanently set up the ball pit with a slide. They spend hours each day with it and the setup was a lot cheaper. So for us a Pickler triangle after a year, wasn't worth it at all. So was there any particular occasion which finally sparked your son's interest? It's great to hear that he changed his mind about it - gives me hope that one day my kids may start using it after all. Still wouldn't get one again - it takes so much space. A foldable slide is so much more affordable and has a smaller footprint - and in our family so much more use.

Being in Houston even now besides the mornings it’s too hot to be outdoors! Been trying to take my kids for bike rides after work but too hot still. The Pikler does take up quite a bit of room but due to the investment we refused to just put it up as sometimes I tend to forget and not rotate things I put away. We constantly (about once a week) change the layout of our play area. My son gets really excited when we do this and wants to try climbing and jumping on everything. He seemed to really take a liking in obstacle courses with tunnels and the triangles. In the beginning he would be excited do the activity once and move on. However after awhile he started liking it more and more. Not sure if this even helped but when I took him to local parks and he had difficulty climbing something by himself I assisted him and then told him this is pretty advanced and that if he wanted we could practice with the Pikler triangle at home so next time he could do it by himself. Then at home I’d ask if he wanted to practice climbing. My son is on the smaller side so he does have difficulty at some of the larger parks.

I wish I got a taller pickler like yours, I feel like our baby will outgrow the river and lily soon.

Babies in general seem to grow way too fast! Your baby will still probably get some good use out of the pikler.

My nanny kid has a triangle, arch and ramp. I told him today that it was called Pikler triangle. He called it a Tickler triangle. He's 2.

Tickler triangle is cute 😆. It does make the happy and laugh to play with it so he’s not totally wrong.

Are you worried about the kiddos falling between the bars? That was one of my concerns.
@kevin-lu
@kevin-lu Жыл бұрын
In the beginning when they’re still new to it it’s a concern but after a couple tries they seem to get the hang of it and now at 11 months old my daughter doesn’t have any troubles. When introducing I just have to make sure to have my hands hovering as they’re still learning.

They do slip from time to time but that's part of the learning. My kid never did more than she felt comfortable doing and now at 2yrs old, she's much more adventurous

I felt the same way with my 1yr old as she was climbing it for the first time. So I will admit that I was constantly hovering until she got the hang of it. But I will say that even at that age she was very cautious about climbing it and not going beyond what she was comfortable with till she got the hang of it. She still can't climb over the triangle so only goes up half one side and that's ok too.

Is it easy to disassemble?
@kevin-lu
@kevin-lu Жыл бұрын
The one I gave you can easily fold it in half but not really that easy to completely disassemble. Since they have to be fairly sturdy I don’t think any are easy to disassemble.

Do you have the large size pikler set? Will it be too big for my 11 month old?

I don’t think it will be too big. My daughter started using the large size Pikler set at around 7 months old. And has no issues with it now. (Just turned 1)

I find it kind of annoying they were allowed to trademark an item that's been used ubiquitously before and after 2004 (when they trademarked it). Unless the family of the pediatrician did it, it's a terrible example of the US's IP system. Anyway, great video as always! I had to put mine away due to space reason (my daughter and I still share one room) but hopefully I can move next year and give her a more dedicated play space. The one I have has a triangle and two long sides to make it very tall, almost like a mini-house.

I believe the term trademark is just Pikler by the organization that teaches/certifies Pikler Prdagogue which is kind of like Montessori and Waldorf but less known. Or at least not as popular as Montessori.
