Thor Christensen maybe they will be fine is they can overcome the mechanic, as the enemy quality is worse than both of the valley of repose caves, bulblax king, snarget hole, shower room and even gluttons kitchen enemys are of much higher difficulty. But that offset by the special feature of submearged castle which only punishes the new and casual player

Is it even possible to kill the little ones. All my time playing Pikmin 2, it does not seem possible to kill the babies. I mean I never gone out of my way to test it but I would assume that with all the times I've played Pikmin that I would of killed at least one accidentally if it was possible.

"Is it even possible to kill the little ones." When the bulbmin are with you? They still die to being eaten/crushed/explosions ect so yes. When the Bulbmin are still with their mother? Its rare but I've had it happen on the 4th floor of Submerged Castle; where all the bomb and poison hazards are. If a bomb-rock falls out of the sky and kills the mother bulbmin all the little runs are counted as wild unfound pikmin and can set off more bomb traps and die without you doing anything to have caused it.

That yellow got sent back to its onion when you jumped down the cave. I gave that as a tip on one of the early videos - jump down a cave at the end of the day and and any stragglers will get teleported to their onion. It's a great way to avoid leaving pikmin behind.

Hey Stephen, here are some tips to protect you from your inevitable doom: -Our friend The Water Wraith isn't the only threat you'll come across in the submerged castle. Look out for traps and bombs. -Literally on this sublevel you'll come across a special type of Bulborb, they're VERY important. -Throwing Pikmin you aren't using onto ledges and patforms where the Water Wraith can't reach is a good idea. AND FINALLY. THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION (I'm serious here): -The Purple Pikmin are fat and make a loud noise when they're thrown.

Fun times. Not much help to give above ground aside from advising to march White Pikmin to dig things instead of just walking and hoping for the best, and to say that with care, Yellows can be tossed over to the blocked off area behind the electric gate without having to spend time building that bridge. The Fiery Bulblax can be made quick work of by, yes, the Waterwraith of course, or "burping" (purple spray) while it's in the water. That's all for Stephen and Mal, but I have something for other commenters: No tips for the Submerged Castle will apply to next episode, because they are already done with it. The rule of thumb is that if they go into a cave during an episode, assume the cave is already cleared. Best wishes for the ever-crazier parts of the game!

Since you are close to debt recovery I will say you will unlock a fourth area afterwards DO NOT GO THERE UNTIL YOU FINISH THE OTHER AREAS that place is really difficult with holes harder then submerged castle.

Nah, the Submerged Castle is still the hardest dungeon in the game, if you don't know what you're doing. The holes in that area are longer, have lots of traps, and have more difficult enemies though.

I don't know if anyone will actually see this but here are some water wraith tips! his weakness is hallways! if he's coming toward you, move your squad as far as you can into the nearest side wall of a hallway, and he can't roll over your squad! Hope this helps someone!

In Stephen and Mal's defense, they don't have to worry about the cave (and the Perplexing Pool itself) later in the LP. My advice to you two for this point on is DON'T BE SCARED PERIOD. Caution and attention to surroundings should still be taken into consideration, but not to the point that it cripples your performance gameplay wise and possibly lose Pikmin in the process. I don't know if you guys use them in later parts in this batch, but I'd also suggest using your two sprays more? They deserve more attention. Friendly reminder that the purple spray temporarily stuns enemies (useful for that Fiery Bulborb like the one seen in Sublevel 1) and the red spray powers up the Pikmin currently in your squad (they must be in your squad or they won't get it). As always, good luck! Looking forward for future parts of the LP!

People did overhype the Submerged Castle by... quite a bit, but there is reason to believe that hype. The general advice they gave sounds about right and I personally remember making a couple trips back here to collect treasure within my first few playthroughs. Although you guys probably finished this cave already, the Water Wraith here appears after (I think) 5 minutes, so the game isn't very generous about the time spent exploring this area. Also, in this cave, I tend to just leave a captain by the hole if I can reach it, so that way I can switch captains and bail if I need to. The Water Wraith has random AI and has no set pattern for patrolling the caves aside from locking onto Pikmin and captains. As you already know, you can use it to your advantage to kill ground enemies and, if you can find places to hide from it (and there are places), then it can't reach you and you can just try and make it to the exit with a solitary captain.

now that I have actually watched the video (with popcorn and soda mind you) I can give more advice. for one, the Waterwraith has super high AI. if it sees you it will chase you down. you had the right idea of using it to kill the enemies but don't get greedy with it. also if you lose all your pikmin in a dungeon you are forced to leave and the treasure gets left behind. only with a geyser can you leave with your treasure.

in all seriousness though, do not worry about collecting all the treasure in this place. if the Waterwraith comes for you just GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE! a tip is to have one captain near the exit and the other collecting the treasure and if shit hits the fan switch to the other captain and get out. as you might already know the Waterwraith is insta-kill and unkillable. just get the hell out of dodge. also you have discovered Bulbmin. here's some info about Bulbmin. Bulbmin count as every color (except purple) meaning they are immune to fire, water, poison, and electric. downside to them: they cannot leave the dungeon they are found in. so if you see candypop buds use the Bulbmin instead of your blues. and one last thing about the Waterwraith. keep a timer. after 5 minutes he spawns so try to haul ass as fast as you can.

Oh yes, you're close to fully repaying the debt, so I'm pretty sure you already figured there's more after that. You will unlock a new area after debt repayment, but I warn you DO NOT GO THERE YET. It only gets harder there and those caves do not mess around! Also, you have lots of potions. Use them. The purple one in particular could've helped you fight that Fiery Bulblax without losing any pikmin. It also destroys the corpse if you kill an enemy during its effect, so the enemies that come back from the dead won't revive. On a side note, it also increases enemy defense but you're free to whale on it as you wish while it's frozen. Very nice multitasking you did today, btw Stephen! Keep it up!

I did the submerged castle last night with the lightbulb power up. Only 3 floors in which waterwraith spawned and I actually lost the most pikmin to the explosions from the bomb bugs. Everytime you fight a fiery bulblax, it's best to use a spicy spray. They are really tough and with the spicy spray they cant eat all your pikmin. Really effective on that enemy.

as the firey bulblax sleeps it regains health, also with the water wraith i recommend just running to the next floor and coming back later for any treasure you missed also pay attention to the music because it will change when it falls to your floor. Oh god, you're doing this before Subterraneon Complex or Glutton's Kitchen? The item you get in Subterraneon Complex would REALLY help here. Like, REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HELP. It's one of my major gripe's with Chuggaa's LP, that he waited so long to get it. You should have used the purple potion on the Fiery Bulblax as soon as it went into the water, would have made it easier. It's also funny cause the first sublevel gives so the most lenient time limit by far. Most people don't trigger the Waterwraith until the second sublevel.

Several years ago when I did this dungeon, something really inconvenient and irritating happened. On one sublevel, I had managed to collect all of the treasures on said floor even while the waterwraith was there. I was heading for the exit, and suddenly, since I was playing it during a thunderstorm, there was a brief power outage in my house. Therefore, I had to start the whole sublevel over again. Something like that would be aggravating in any dungeon, but this one was more so, being that it is one of the hardest dungeons, and scariest too for that matter, in the game. Nonetheless, I felt grateful that the game auto saves after each sublevel and didn't have to start the whole dungeon over.

I'm sure the entire dungeon is pre-recorded, but I think being in control of your fear is key to the Submerged Castle. It's not the hardest dungeon, but *_it is the most stressful_* and I'm really sorry that all we did was make you guys scared... we were scared too, it's hard for the dungeon to NOT stress you out. Other than that, I'd say use your potions (you could have easily killed the Fiery Bulblax if you used a Purple Potion while it was in the water) and don't be afraid to reset.
