I'm only realizing years later that the Waterwraith and the Submerged Castle is a fitting end to the first half of Pikmin 2. One of the most challenging dungeons up to that point with its set of hazards, enemy placement, and the wraith itself. It may only be 5 floors deep, but it is a stressful 5 floors

Me neither, even after all these years of scouring the fandom for answers. My own theory is that he is lost in the chaos of whatever boss fight was done to finish off the debt. I think the reason he appears with Olimar as usual is just cause the game is old and its hard-coded in or something.

Personally i like the Submerged castle level. Not because of how difficult it is, it's just the Pikmin games to me are kind of easy (except for a few bosses, and parts here and there)None the less i think that this area is fun just because i like a challenge.

iTurret not if your fast enough first time I went through it. waterwraith spawns "fuck you treasure ill come back for you later" second time "damnit lost some pikmin" third time. ok I got all the treasure *10-30 seconds later* the wraith spawns or I delve deeper before it spawns 4th time no pikmin died. water wraith didn't spawn till final floor. its possible to complete each floor within 4 minutes. after 5 minutes the wraith spawns.

Poor Louie. The scenes and music under the credits would have been very beautiful, but because you can see Louie wandering around...it makes the music very sad instead. I mean, imagine if that was you accidentally left behind on an alien planet, wandering around all lonely, looking at the scenery, and at the sky wondering if the others will ever come back to get you. I know Louie survives and all, but still,makes me want to cry a little.

According to Pikmin 4, the reason the Waterwraith is so scared of the Purples' quake is because that thud makes gravitational waves, which forces him to take on a physical form. As for why he runs away without his rollers... Well, he's got no weapons now, he's helpless.
