Yeah, that strategy is usually the best but that's what I don't like about this game, if you're scared of losing Pikmin because you don't get new ones in the caves you're just gonna punch everything to death and that really gets in my nerves after a while because that's not really how Pikmin is supposed to be played.

when you kill an enemy that is turned into stone it doesnt drop their corpse, but it does however, drop any treasures the enemy is holding and sometimes drops nectar and sprays
