I loved the story of Pikmin 1. Having only 30 days, Olimar getting more and more desperate in his entry logs the closer you got to 30 days when you'd die. And when you made a terrible mistake and lost a lot of pikmin or wiped out all of one color, he'd talk about it and feel horrible about it in his entry logs.

literally insane that your first ever playthrough of this game was finished in the same amount of in game days as it took me, someone whos played this game like 20+ times to beat on my best attempt the reason is probably that i always like to grow like 200 extra pikmin of each type that i dont need and tend to be extra cautious to avoid losing pikmin which ends up slowing me down.

to clarify since i've posted this comment i have since beaten the game in 10 in game days. i don't know if i'll ever get to 9 in game days, because that requires clearing the distant spring in 2 days, which is tough. and anything 8 or below requires clearing each area in a single day, which is likely beyond my current skill level at the moment

Oh you think this first game was a physiological experiment? That’s cool. Anyway, in the second game on the third area, there’s a hole that makes you take only blue Pikmin. It is so easy, that you can get everything with only 20 Pikmin if you go slow and take your time. It’s called the submerged castle. It’s my favorite hole.
