I was thinking about something like that. 24 buttons can be scanned when you use a matrix, add some ws2812 serial rgb leds which only take 1 pin to control, maybe an I2S codec an encoder and a small display. I think the Pico has enough pins for all that.

Wait! So while you're not using the "official" DIY kit from InfiniteDigits, this fw IS loadable onto one, correct? I was thinking of buying one anyway, but this would pretty much force my hand. 🤩

That's correct. I built my Picocore from InfiniteDigits schematics. I had the parts and it was way faster than ordering one.

@@user-go6rq8hk5d The 4 A/D inputs on the RP2040 are used to sample the potentiometers so there are none left for external CV. It would require a redesign to add a multiplexer or another A/D converter for CV inputs. Same for CV out - the only "analog" output on the Pikocore is the PWM audio out and the RP2040 has no internal DACs. Could be added but once again a redesign of the whole thing. The RP2040 is a great little device for audio and Eurorack projects if you have the skills.

Where can I buy the universal PCB? Are the connections on the bottom made by wires?

I bought the proto pcb on Aliexpress. They have a bunch of different sizes. Yeah, most of the wiring is on the bottom side. I use 30 gauge wire wrap wire.
