Totally amazing sound module, really authentic - terrific V16 bellowing. Historical detail for geeks: The My ID number was how it was written in the 70s, after repaint at some point it is written MY with capital letters.

Roco has made quite a few liveries over the years. Every now and then they pop up as 2nd hand. My local shop does have one brand new one as well, though it has been there for 2 years at least... probably a livery that everyone already has. Trix has indeed made them, as well as B Models and NMJ. My latest nohab is from NMJ, a beautiful model with snowplough and metal railings for operator to stand in front of loco. Mind you, snowplough hugged rails so tightly that I had to shave it a bit with scalpel. It stopped in points if there was even the slightest difference in rail height. Feels a bit stupid having to use scalpel on a 300 euro model, but now it runs nicely and still looks convincing. First Nohab was of course Märklin, must have been from late 60s or early seventies as there was a Danish and Belgian one in my parents' basement in mid 70s when I started running them. They were a few years old already then. They are still in their basement, and are still working.

Haven't seen the NMJ ones apart from at a distance at a trade show. I guess the only NMJ to reach the UK will be personal imports as it would be difficult for a UK shop to run an account. (Shipping, import and currency costs versus the number of Scandinavian modellers I have met) The Piko ones are more detailed that the Trix and I have the feeling that the Roco model is from the 1990s. Cheers Chris
