Great model! It is definitely on my purchase list. Hope to see more North American N scale models from PIKO. Thanks.

Very excited for this release ! Wondering how the power pickup will be considering that only 1 axle picks up current?

Question for piko: I have a track powered 25 tonner, and running on a ground level outdoor layout it struggles to pull one plastic boxcar without wheel slip. Is there a fix?

Awesome looking Model. Will these be offered in a DC Friendly version ??? ,......Will you eventually be offering a Lehigh & New England paint scheme ??? Thanks for doing N-Scale !!!

We do have highly accurate info to do LNE Whitcombs in both N and HO, so that's a natural possibility for future paint schemes! ;) All our N and HO Whitcombs come in either standard DC (decoder-ready, non-sound) versions and/or DCC/Sound-equipped versions.

@@PIKOAmerica If I were to buy a DC model to start with then change over to DCC later what Manufacture are you working with digitrex or another? are the boards a plug in pin or hard wire?

I’m very excited to see this new model. Will basic decoder programming such as address, volume and lighting function be possible without a proprietary programmer?

I have both versions of this, love everything about it except one thing, the locomotive doesn't stop! When you put the throttle at zero, the engine will slow down and then coast at that speed for about 5 second or so, then stop. I contacted PIKO and where I bought it at Trainworld and every suggestion didn't help at all. I fooled with the CV's a bit and managed to figure out a combination that allowed me to slow it before I wanted to stop and then when I wanted it to stop it does.....kind of. I was going to use these as a switcher but there is no way you can use it for that, you'd overshoot all of your switching duties! Very frustrating, probably my first and last N scale PIKO purchase.

Very nice. Just don't over price them.

Do the DC models come DCC ready and with a DC board that can be swapped out with a DCC decoder, or do they require hard wiring??
