Great video - will definitely have to add Pilanesberg National Park to our bucket list of parks to visit. Beautiful wildlife sightings. Thanks for sharing.

Great video and shots! What kind of car were you driving? We are renting a car and thinking about the Hyundai Venue (small SUV). I dont think its 4 wheel drive but do we need it to be?

I was driving a small VW polo. You'll be fine for all tar roads, but the dirt roads are far more treacherous. Some impassable without a 4x4, but i managed quite a few with my small car, so you'll be fine for most of them- just take it easy! Enjoy the park

Hi there! Great video, thanks a lot! About the hides, how do you get in, giving the risk of running into a lion/rhino, etc.? Are the hides protected so that you can get off the car safely? Thanks!
@conservationcorrigan2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. In various parks there will designated areas you can get out of your vehicle, but they will be clearly marked. In the Pilanesberg the hides have a small area to park your car right outside the fenced off areas to the hides/picnic spots. Be sure to check your surroundings before you exit your car, but Ive always felt safe.

Unrelated question, but going to try my luck! Do you know how I can get from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park?
@michaelroebuck134025 күн бұрын
The Park urgently needs rain . Dams very low water holes drying up . Veld tinder dry high fire risk. Same at Madikwe.

You can either drive which takes about 4 and a half hours, or fly from Johannesberg to an airport nearby (Hoedspruit) or within (Skukuza)
