I hurt my back while lifting a tandem kayak. [I was holding one end over my head, the other end was suddenly dropped and my back absorbed the shock]. These exercises felt good to do. Looking forward to repeating these several times a day until my back is healed. Thank you so much for this and all your other pilates videos!

@@pauloconnor890 it’s really important to keep mobile. You never mentioned the reason for your back pain but yes improving abdominal strength is so important. Check out my website www.Angespilates.com and hit the workout archive tab and there is a workout library. You might want to try the 30 minute back strengthening workout. Hope this helps 😊

@@AngesPilates Thank you! Much appreciated, I'm not sure the cause of it, seems to be from general activity, I think being tall and an office job doesn't help. If I've been active from planting trees or playing tennis it'll occur and linger for about a week. Yes I've been doing the 30min core one for a month now it's great! Thank you.

Omg so glad I found this. And 20 years ago that is exactly how my back problem started in a squat machine with too much weight. PS I eventually after years of accupucture and everything else my chiropractor sent me to pain management. I got three shots over three months. Years later I have occasional relapse from running and daily chores.

Joyrobin wow! It shows you how we need to look after our spine and that’s exactly what Joseph Pilates set out to do so many years ago. Thankfully I recovered fairly quickly because of my Pilates background. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Angie sorry to hear you are stll recovering. I have come across your video as i am looking for pilates videos to aide my recovery from cauda equina back surgery. Pre op i exercised at least 4 times a week mainly hitt type classes so this is new to me although i have done body balance. I have been cleared by my surgeon to do pilates so do have any tips for me please or reccommendations on wher to start? Thankyou
@AngesPilates4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jackie, I hope you are recovering well. I do not know much about cauda equina syndrome but I suggest you head to my website and look at the workout archives where you will find a video on Pilates Terminology where you can familiarise yourself with Pilates 'jargon" . I strongly suggest you start with my Beginners workout and do this numerous times before you move onto more advanced routines. I hope this helps. www.angespilates.com Keep strong xo

Hello...I've just tried this as I've strained my right hip flexor ..Would you recommend any of your other classes or should I just stick to this?Also do you think using a light theraband ,a ball or a magic circle is out of the question during this time?!Thanks so much !Sophie.
@AngesPilates5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sophie, it depends whether the strain is mild or severe and you do not mention how long you have had this. A strain is a tear in the muscles and it depends what grade the tear is. The most important thing is rest and treatment. I suggest going to see a professional to help you get better. I definitely would not use any apparatus at this time. All the best for your recovery. x

@@AngesPilates Thanks so much...I've been to an Oestopath and it feels better already...just a mild one so I will just exercise without any aids until it's better...I found your class that you put up after your back injury and that was helpful too!x

Hello Angela, thanks for your channel ! My advice for you in this case would be, if you please, too get yourself chi nei tsang massage sessions. Our spine and gut work together very closely. Too work on the abdomen will greatly release psoas muscles and open your spine. Check out Mantak Chia channel. Have a good time ! Cédric
