Yes Ed, it is truly magnificent. I've been there many times and am amazed each time. Did you know that this church almost closed, yet now it is a thriving parish? See these 3 videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5vama2uhrFoqZY kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5SZlZSjoLWqbpo kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIvRh2eplLKJeac

What is that sculpture of a woman’s body there under a table at 1:28 ? Why ?

The female effigy at 1:25 represents St. Philomena, and the effigy at 1:28 represents St. Lucy. Both are made of wax. Both women were early martyrs, killed during the Roman persecutions. You can see reliquaries near the feet of the effigies. The reliquaries contain first-class relics of each saint, typically tiny fragments of bone. Most Catholic altars around the world have the relics of one or more saints embedded inside of them, but most are not visible or as extravagantly displayed as these. When the priest kisses the altar at the start and conclusion of every Mass, he is symbolically also showing reverence to the saints who came before us. This brief article explains the history and purpose of this practice: aleteia.org/2020/01/29/why-are-saints-relics-placed-inside-altars/ In nearby Briggsville, Wisconsin is the National Shrine of St. Philomena. I'll be uploading here a video of a visit to the shrine in a few days (check back). In the meantime, here is the shrine's website: www.saintphilomenashrine.org/ I hope that helps!
