I adore that pattern from “Not Forgotten Farm!” Your backing fabric and trim were spot on. Thank you for leaving in your mistake. We all make them and hopefully learn from them. A great instructional video.

I never thought to use a glue stick to hold the trim in place. What a good idea! And I cannot count the number of times I’ve sewn the wrong sides together. Glad I’m not the only one. Great tutorial. Thanks❤️

I love that you handstitch them close on the bottom.

Sometimes I just slit a hole and stitch it closed on the backing too, if I am lazy :)

Glue basting for the win! Also works great with ricrac! Every sewist has sewn something with the right side facing the wrong direction...so frustrating though!

I was taught in home-ec to sew right over those pins. So when I signed up for a quilting class I thought the teacher was going to pop a vein when she saw me do that. lol. I try not to now, but sometimes it happens. Thanks for the tutorial.

Oh Bonnie! I was yelling at the screen. I’ve done that same thing a hundred times. The worst is when I’m doing fusible appliqué and iron the fusible on the wrong (right) side of the fabric. I love the glue stick idea. I’ll be doing that from now on. I usually used a million pins to secure the trim. Very informative.video. ❤️ Thanks.

The glue doesn’t gum up your sewing machine needle?
@UnfinishedStitches8 күн бұрын
The glue does not! It was a glue stick and did not take very much to hold the trim in place.
