On the second example, your narrator states 1500, your pilot inputs 3000... No big deal, just funny. I love the equipment though. Keep me safer Honeywell!

It’s because he entered an MSL altitude that is “1500ft above the surface of the runway.” The field elevation at Scottsdale is 1510, so it would be appropriate to enter 3000 as a desired altitude for the airplane 5 miles out.
