That Yama Budo might make a nice compliment to the Noodler's Rome if you're dyeing paper. I'll have to check out your video on that. As for a favorite ink, oh my... I can tell you that recently, I've been obsessed with Robert Oster No Fixed Address. It's a good ink to use when you're undecided. 😊 I too find my pens behave better with the Iroshizuku inks... I like Kiri-same... for its subtlety and shading. But seriously I'm all over the place with color.

I do not have a single Robert Oster ink! This is the 2nd time this week that someone mentioned their inks! I may have to save up some cash to get one... "No Fixed Address" shows up as a strawberry with blue shimmer! YUM!!! That sounds AMAZING!!!

My favorite Iroshizuku ink is Yama-Budo. I have it in my TWSBI Iris 580; it's such a good pairing that I'm hard-pressed to try another!

TWSBI Iris -- it's so beautiful, it distracts me while writing! Hahaha! Yama Budo with that is absolutely gorgeous! I've also used purple inks with mine. Thank you for sharing!!!

I’m still pretty new to fountain pens and inks, so I still have a lot more to explore! My current favorite ink is diamine polar glow. My favorite pen is a sailor pro gear slim with a medium fine nib.

WELCOME to your new addiction! LOL! It's just a wonderful hobby - pens, nibs, ink, paper... you name it! OOOOO Polar Glow!!! It's so beautiful and I feel like you get a 2 for 1 with some of these lovely colored inks! I love that you have a Sailor Pro Gear - it's on my "want" list (yes, it's a long list)! What color is your Pro Gear? I need to know the details!!!!

@@KitchenCounterCrafts Thank you! My fountain pen addiction has replaced my sticker/washi addiction! Lol! My sailor pro gear slim mini is in the color Zeen Pink. It was less than $90 from Amazon (sent from Amazon Japan, free shipping), so I went for it and I’m so glad I did. It’s my favorite for now! (Trying not to buy more so it’ll be my favorite for a while….lol!)

@@lisak6685 You got a steal of deal!!! WOW! I looked up that color - it is so beautiful and I love pinks/purples! BTW, I have a lovely washi tape collection too -- it's much cheaper than pens (well... sometimes!) Hahaha! What do you use your washi for? Just wondering!
@lisak6685 Жыл бұрын
@@KitchenCounterCrafts I use washi mostly in my journals….but I have so much!! It’s so to easy to buy washi/stickers….a little here and there and before I knew it, I’ve managed to accumulate so much! With the cost of fountain pens/inks, I have to plan my purchases and spend less now, if you can believe that!!

@@lisak6685 I can believe it - but I love my washi and my fountain pens and my inks. Is that wrong??? 😁

I'm a Pilot fan, myself! I will check out your ink recommendation. Sailor inks are so beautiful, as are their pens - I think their colors are like candy!

I have tried out several - but own only three Pilot Iroshizuku inks: Yama-Budo, Tsuki-yo and Syo-ro. All very lovely colors, are well-behaved and wet-flowing. The Iroshizuku line of inks is quite deservedly praised. I just love many of the Sailor inks even more. 😀 Edit: I always watch all my YT videos on my iPhone.

So I hit the jackpot one day. I went on the weekend to a Goodwill store in my neighborhood. I was looking at their expensive case up front (not for anything in particular) when I saw a row of silver boxes- no label . Mind you- I didn’t own a single Iroshizuku at that time. The boxes looked like they were perfumes, so I asked to see one. They had them facing the wrong way. The one she handed me was Yama Budo- the one I had wanted online!!! I kinda freaked out! Then I saw the price tag $4.99 I bought all of them. Many were full bottles! I still cannot believe that happened! I went back a few days later to see if they had anything else (a pen???), but nothing. This was an incredible blessing for me! My husband couldn’t believe it either! We love them all!!!

@@KitchenCounterCrafts ..Wow! I’d be over the moon and back if the same had happened to me. You must have felt the sweetest thrill that day to have landed such fantastic inks for a ‘steal’. You’re a lucky and blessed lady, alright.

@@sajjadhusain4146 True!!! I still thank the Lord every time I use those inks (and others, since it's all from Him). I just love having this hobby -- it's useful, productive and can spark the best conversations (like this one!😊) when you take a pen out at a restaurant or a meeting and someone says "whoa! What are you writing with?" I just love it!

@@KitchenCounterCrafts ..So cool to see such a wholesome attitude of eternal gratitude to God for everything He blesses us with. I admire and applaud that. And yes, I’ve gotten it all the time, i .e. many people have often commented on my use of fountain pens, with a mixture of incredulity, curiosity and often awe and admiration at the sight of a particularly attractive pen in my hand. This is indeed a fascinating hobby. Also usually an expensive one, eventually. It pays to be patient and prudent - and not get carried away. There’s not a single day in the year that I don’t touch and write with my fountain pens. I have downsized my collection of both pens and inks. It was necessary and worthwhile. Thankfully, pens will never take up too much space or cause clutter. Books are another story altogether. I have a sizable home library. I’ve always read prolifically. But like any other lover and owner of very many books, it’s impossible to finish reading them all in our lifetimes. I did say that about ink bottles, too. And gosh, books do take up so much space. Luckily, I live alone in a large house. Enough space - and nobody to complain. 😀
@KitchenCounterCrafts Жыл бұрын
@@sajjadhusain4146 oh no, don’t get me started on books! I’m impressed that you actually downsized your collection! We are doing basically a swap in our pen club. Many are selling and others are buying. My collection is not too large and I use the cheaper pens to test out inks, so they get utilized. Also, I use them to introduce others into this addiction- ahem, I mean “hobby.” My sweet Pen Pal Lily sent me a box of her inks. I did several reviews and then took them to the pen club so we could all play! It was great fun. I find that I have 2 modes: 1 is blue/black/Oxblood for regular stuff and then the experimental one with shimmers and colors for cards & letters. I enjoy both. Do you have any color inks you might look into (no, not just blue/black)?

My favorite ink is forever & always Monteverde Horizon Blue. Idc how stereotypical blue is, the easy flow, the subtle sheen, the intense blue it looks in every nib size has me wowed every time! I pray the triune God of the supernaturally prophetic (Romans 1:26-31/2 Timothy 4:3/Matthew 24:6/1 Corinthians 1:18 fulfilled in reality today), historically verified (archaeologically & anthropologically by Christians & non-Christians w/enemy/early/multiple attestation, internal consistency, embarrassing reports, etc.) & transcendentally/objectively moral (Exodus 20/Matthew 22:37-40) Holy Bible reveals Himself to you in Spirit & objective truth (John 16:13). May God bless you with faith in Him (Ephesians 2:8 & Merriam-Webster, "belief , *trust* in & loyalty to God")!

Thank you for watching and for sharing your ink. Monteverde's Horizon Blue is such a beauty. My husband and I went on a "true blue" and "perfect black" ink kick together. It's kind of like having the perfect pair of dress black & blue pants in your wardrobe. I think newbies to the pen hobby have to explore the blues and blacks. Have you been watching Voddie Baucham? He has a wonderful statement that is like yours! What really impressed me about reading the Bible when I was a new believer were the "embarrassing reports." You don't find that in other religions.
