Well I see I am 4 years late to the party, but I loved this review! It provided me with information I needed to make my purchase. I'm new to the fountain pen community and this type of review hits the spot!!
@nathandkreosote99173 жыл бұрын
The pilot prera was my first fountain pen. I started writing with it in 6th grade and I still use it today after graduating high school. It's the perfect pen for me, even overshadowing my montegrappa parola. As a side note, all of the affordable type pens from pilot have interchangeable nibs. The Kakuno, Metropolitan and Prera can swap feeds and nibs between eachother.

I thought I was the only one who absolutely loved the feeling and sound of capping the pen. It's oddly soothing, I just wish I had a nib other than the stub.
@lindabelardes59717 жыл бұрын
It's okay when I do it but can't stand when other people do it...drives me nuts. lol

Ashley Robinson I love this pen!! But the click of cap is so soothing and there is just something about it. Love how it writes too. Deciding next nib since I have F but wonder if M even smoother. I like a thinner line but would be fun to try different nibs to this pen.

The Prera has a unique click when you cap it. I love snap caps and how they sound and the Prera is the one I play with the most.

I love my Pilot Prera that fits my hand perfectly. I have small hands and have hard time with large heavy pens. Thank you for your great videos. I learn so much from watching these.

I really like the way this pen looks and writes! Your review was really in depth!

Great review. An easy way to flush that pen and any Pilot that uses the same cartridge is to cut the back end off of a used cartridge, install it in the pen, and put the bulb syringe in the back of the cartridge. That method works great on my Metropolitan. Thanks for the contest!

I really enjoy your reviews. Thank you for showing size comparisons between the pens you review and others on the market as well as the side by side of the inks.

The Pilot Prera is my favorite pen and I would love to see the M nib and the clear version of the pen. I really love your reviews since they are so detailed.

Just got one three days ago. Was a bit hard to start ink flowing, but when it did, it was great! Thought the fine nib would be too fine, but I'm liking it. The Prera is a smooth writer too, just like my yellow Lucina. My two favorites now!

Definitely on my wish list. Thank you for the chance, Figboot and engeika?

Thanks for the review. Interested to try this. I love all my current pilots - custom 74, CH92, metro.

That ink is absolutely beautiful. What a great find!

The Prera was the first fountain pen that I really loved and to this day I think a larger Prera would satisfy all my needs. Yes, I do own 2 C74's, as well as 1 CH92, but there's just something about the Prera. Besides, I find the nib way better than the one on the Metropolitan.

David, I got one of Goulet Pens Bulb Syringes, snipped the end off at an appropriate point so that the end of the bulb encompasses the end of that portion of the Prera and it flushes for me without any problem. I hope that helps you in some way. You have helped me with your reviews. Take care.

Excellent review! I feel like you covered all the bases and represented the pen accurately and well. Engeika has a nice shop with a particularly strange exclusive 3776 Century "Nyvahn" - it's yellow with a translucent pink body. Crazy! I keep eyeing it. The Prera is a classic pen and actually has similar manufacturing quality as Pilot's higher end pens! Have a good week!

The value of the pen is great for the style. I wouldn't complain about the white smoke nib thing. Its a pilot pen and it's the way it balances out looks, weight, and function. You can't beat it if you have a budget.

3:25 ....the cross peerless has a satisfying click when you post it, the diplomat aero has a satisfying click when you cap it, the cross apogee and affinity don't have the click but have the soft pressure that figboot talks about, the soft pressure is during posting and capping and can feel addictive
@WaskiSquirrel8 жыл бұрын
I'm not entering. But, I agree that this is a nice pen, especially at this price point. I prefer the Kakuno body with this nib. I purchased a stub nib in the Prera. It writes just as you say, but it is very dry. I prefer this pen with a finer nib.

Had some doubts if I'd buy a TWSBI or this Prera, in the end the TWSBI 580AL on but still would love to add a Prera to my small Pilot collection (have 2 Metros F+M and a 78G Broad that I like a lot.

Entering the giveaway. Been curious about the Prera for a while, whether the nib is identical to the Metro or not. Don't let my obnoxious name deter you. I changed it once in a fit a of whimsy and have to wait an eternity before changing it again apparently. (tmi?)

I'm way too late to say this, but when looking at Asian, and especially Japanese, pens, it's very much worth considering a rather significant difference in hand size, especially a couple of generations back, which is why many American pens are absurdly humongous, while everyday Japanese pens tend to be rather small, often accompanied by a fairly short grip section as well.
