My ATC in the game just disappeared as of yesterday. Before it was working fine.I don't understand that. It is one of the reasons for looking at getting this. But is there a cost to Pilot ATC2 ? I don't know if I need to get help and fix My original ATC first

Yes, Pilot2atc is payware. There is a 10 day trial period. I go through it in more detail in the vid. As for your default atc disappearing, I encounter this sometimes, too. I chalk it up to server problems, and it often fixes itself for me the next day. Hope yours gets fixed, too!

I think it is gonna be another game like ATC kind of like a love hate relationship with the game. I love the game in a way but hate it at the same time. If that makes any sense LoL

Hello, Professor Clumsy. As a flight simulator newbie who keeps bouncing his plane on the landings, I find this way over my head. However, I find it fascinating the level to which you can actually simulate flight in this and other flight simulators. The immersion levels are amazing and I look forward to learning as I go if I can keep a plane intact! Thank you for sharing. This piece of software definitely looks amazing indeed. Pricey, but I'd say worth any penny given what it's capable of. One thing I would long for, though, is greater integration to FS and use the ATC menu instead of switching back and forth during flight. Two questions, if you don't mind : - If you create your flightplan inside Pilot2ATC, will it reflect in the onboard instruments ? - If for some reason you can't reach the required altitude during descent, will the ATC take that into account and give you propper course correction to catch up ?

There are multiple ways, but it involves mostly exporting a flight plan as a .pln file from your favorite flight planning app and importing it into fs2020 world map screen. About missing the target alt, yes, I seem to remember atc vectoring me around if I happen to descend too slow, but I can't remember 100%. Enjoy!

Great Video. I'm in trial period with Pilot2ATC. I noticed that in my settings, I selected Airborne AI traffic alert but haven't heard any alert so far. Also does Pilot2ATC see MSFS2020 traffic both AI and all onlne players? Oftens I see other planes landing or taxiing but no Ground ATC to manage conflicting traffics.

Thanks! The interface can only see AI planes atm, but not yet online players. It's a limitation on simconnect iirc. You should get traffic alerts airborne, though, if there's an AI plane inside the radius you set. I've had instances where ATC told me to hold short or line up and wait as there was an AI plane taking off or landing before me.

LOL My question to you is when I'm in the sim, I don't want to have pilot2atc window open and in the way of my view, I only have 1 monitor so i can't just move it into the main monitor my sim is using. So i do i make it disappear or minimize when i don't need it open? And how do i maximize it when i need to see it in the sim? I think you understand what I'm asking.

Thanks! You can alt+tab to switch windows. My sim is running in borderless windowed so alt tabbing is not disruptive and has no delay.

Thanks! Hmm if you export the flight plan from P2A as a pln file, you should be able to import it into fs2020 from the world map screen. I don't use P2A's export option, though, as I use Little Navmap for my actual flight planning and do my exports there.

When I did find one .pln file and loaded it, it changed the plane model from Cessna G1000 to older steam dial version, and put me on the active runway (not cold and dark on the ramp that I input.). And still the plan route did not appear in the G1000, it’s blank!

My pleasure! AI traffic can be seen by pilot2atc, so you can be told to hold short or go around, but pilot2atc cannot control what the AI planes do. You basically work your way around them.

Ah thanks George. I think I get what you mean now. Yes, unfortunately the flight plan you set in pilot2atc is not automatically synced with msfs. You either have to program them separately, or you can use other 3rd party apps (simbrief, little navmap) to save a flight plan in different formats and load them to each one. Personally, I found loading flight plans can be buggy at times so I just opt to manually program separately. Takes a bit more time but allows me to get more familiar with the flight plan.

I just noticed.. pushback is no longer possible with Pilot2 ATC? Is that correct, or did I do something wrong? i.e. the pushback is done with the ATC stock menu.. and now, because that is disabled.. stuck?

You can still use atc stock menu for pushback even when using pilot2atc. It's just muted. You'll actually be able to pushback better because you won't need to wait for the voice. It'll just react immediately.

Great information, thanks. Just a bit worried about some reports (avsim again!) The FSUIPC and/or Simconnect causes stuttering in sim? Any adverse reports? Otherwise this looks like it may be a must buy! Also can you export the MSFS plan into the ATC? Since we require both simulator and ATC to be on the same route.

The stuttering was caused because SimConnect was broken. It has NOW BEEN FIXED in the latest FS2020 Update.

Indeed. Stuttering has been fixed in the update last week. And yes, you can import .pln files from the sim to pilot2atc or vice versa, or you can even use something like simbrief, save that into a .pln, then import that into both pilot2atc and the sim.

@@TheClumsyGeekGaming thanks for that. My poor plastic card is heading for cash damage again! Can you say how to get a Simbrief plan into MSFS? Perhaps do a short video? An ATC program that knows your position and responds with intelligent replies is my top wish for MSFS. Second is to get MCE with full voice control in there with voice control to an AI first officer. The inbuilt ATC is a fair attempt, but is not accurate and seems to run on a timed verbal response....try a thorough checklist start in the Neo and the ATC starts pushing you back before your ready!

For simbrief, look for the download button and choose the FS2020 format. This will save as a .pln file. Inside the sim, in the world map screen, there is a button at the bottom to load a flight plan (.pln file). Enjoy!

With no Sid and star support and janky results when hand enter routes in msfs, how are you syncing your flight plans between pilor2atc and the sim?

Very hard lol. I try to plug in waypoints manually into the fms when needed, but it's a hit or miss. Worst case, I fly heading select and follow pilot2atc map 😂. Oftentimes they sync up pretty well, though, if the flight plan isn't terribly complicated. I have a video coming out tomorrow where a desync happened and what I did instead. 👍

Thanks! Unfortunately it has to be manual. I find that exporting flight plans is prone to errors especially on more complex routes, so I opt to just plug them in manually separately. It's more of a hassle, but less error prone. 👍

Question- when the p2atc flight plan differs from sim flt plan (mostly waypoints because of differing databases), how do we ensure the a/c follows the p2atc plan and not the sim FMS plan (magenta line)? For now, my a/c all continue to stick to the 'outdated' sim flt plan and completely deviate from the p2atc nav.

Thanks! Yes this can be a problem. It happened to me yesterday on the stream (footage coming out later). On the tbm at least the mfd is functional enough that I can delete the wrong waypoints and add in the correct ones one by one to make them consistent with pilot2atc. Other than that, you might need to revert to heading mode and just try to follow using pilot2atc map.

As I'm sure you're experiencing, that's a far less than ideal marriage between these two great pieces of software. Not sure I have enough patience to manually try and align the sim flt plans as close as possible to p2atc. My hope was fs2020 was just going to have enhanced atc and nav planning for those of us who enjoy that-and it does, to an extent...but just not that up to date real world feel, yet. I'll have to choose between them for now and just use certain functionality from each I prefer. Hi, you can change your cruising altitude in the pilot2atc app before you file your flight plan. It's also possible to request a change in cruising altitude mid-flight, but I found that can get a bit buggy and I try not to use it.

Yes. It can automatically find waypoints enroute, too. I still like little navmap better for flight planning, but it's not bad and you'll need less apps overall.

i have a problem with my Pilot2ATC with Prepar3D v4 because as soon as i depart from MNL there are multiple manila center frequencies and the first time i am instructed to tune in to one i am then instructed to tune in to another manila center with a different frequency and now i am just stuck in an endless loop of being tossed around the multiple controllers until it crashes when i overfly the last waypoint of the departure route and i wondering if you have encountered the same problem and have a workaround or fix for it

OK, probably a daft question, but how do you load the flightplan created in P2ATC into the Aircraft nav system?, I have all green button lights, hit file, but the plane nav just shows me parked at the airport? (great vid by the way). cheers

Thanks! This is best done in the world map screen in the sim. That means you might need to go back to the main menu first, go to the world map, and load the pln file from there.

I have purchased licenced version of FSUIPC. FSUIPC is great and I have been able to configure all my hardware using it. I then went ahead and purchased the licence for WideFS 7. I ran FSUIPC again as was asked and added both the licences on the Sim PC Next I Installed WideFS 7 and Pilot2ATC on a second PC and have become stuck here. How do I get the two PC's to talk with each other? The guide makes no sense and I have never edited the .ini files. Your help will be appreciated TIA

So I purchased the HCS Voice packs. Seems it is useful for coffee command to control the plane, I emailed the developer and currently there isn't any plan to use the voice pack for ATC, BUT he did say it may be a possibility. I sure hope so. The best we have is for checklist before take off. I think I'll use that for take off. My purchase is a pre order, so I am unable to test how it works. I'd love to see voices that we cheaper than $45 USD. Now, I'm wondering what goes into creating voices for ATC, if it can do it, I will create personal, real voice packs for cheap since I'm more about realism than money. Also, have you flown the Baron G58? Send that plane cannot turn, I would like to request if you could test it out and see if it's just my Saitek X-52, it is so old, but it works. Also, I purchased Pilot2ATC and the chatter for the background. I'm really enjoying it and I don't use a copilot and respond to everything, flawless it is. Thank you again for everything you do including the add ons. The one thing I did notice it's that you can't use live online traffic as it causes the game to crash continusly. May I ask another favor? Could you contact the developer and see if I'm the future we could use the online features and not have it crash? I'm going to go to the forums and email the debaser l developer about this as I like to use the live online that has people using the same settings I use. When the HCS Voice Packs become available to use, I will text them out and it's then to my KZbin channel.

If it's a bug, for sure others would be chiming in on their experience and workarounds, if any exist. We have an amazing community and the forums is a very active place. I spend a couple of hours there every day.

Because navdata is a separate subscription provided by a separate company (navigraph). It's good enough that there is something included.

What I meant, was they should include the *current* version of the database when you buy the program. For example.. I just bought the P2ATC.. and now my flights are not lining up with MSFS2020. Missing waypoint already. Its annoying. So, it should have "shipped" with the current version, and then from there.. people can decide to upgrade etc. But, shipping with a 2 year old database makes no sense. Now, I have to re-buy Navigraph just to use it. Which is fine I guess.. but, it just seems wrong, lol.

Yeah, that would mean pilot2atc would need to constantly buy navigraph, too, and ship it to whoever gets the software. I'm not familiar how these agreements go, but it seems something outside the realm of pilot2atc in my view. You can suggest it to Dave in the forums, though, see what he thinks and maybe he can reconsider.

Great video, thanks for creating. You may have already discovered this but in this flight you are traveling South, Not West and that's why it corrected to FL360. When you fly East or West it's odd + 500 and when flying North or South it's even + 500. Not sure if commercial follows the +500 requirement though.

Ah thanks! That makes sense. The 500 I think is mostly when flying VFR. With IFR it's even westbound and odd eastbound until FL410.

Yes! It has an autopilot panel. Some users go with that for adjusting AP than doing it in the cockpit for easier access.

I do want to fly slow into Colorado after seeing it in American Truck Sim. We'll do that soon, but probably not with the g1000. I really like the steam gauges, and they're much more FPS friendly lol.

Yup! Save flight plan from the sim as pln file and import into pilot2atc, or vice versa. You can also use simbrief, download that to fs2020 format as pln file, and load to both pilot2atc and the sim.

Hey, so I recently messed around with flight sim and got into it. I want a more realistic atc and I found this to be perfect. I'm having issues running it though. I use the Microsoft store version of the game. Every time I launch msfspc7 it sends me to the steam store. Is this suggesting I need the steam edition? Thanks for any help

If you have a navigraph subscription, it comes with the fms manager and it can search for your pc all the apps that can have their airac cycles updated. Pilot2atc will be one of those.

I tried it and this wasn't working for me. Many times [request] fields were empty. Even with the assistance turned on. I tried to get support from their forum but got no help. ("Dave" was no help). At the end MS FS ATC isn't bad at all with much more natural voices. I put my money into FS-Flight Control instead.

Every time I push connect- nothing happens. I've tried downloading and re-installing Pilot2ATC but still nothing. I've tried turning off Firewall and other security - still nothing. It works with Xplane11 but have been unsuccessful with FS2020

@@TheClumsyGeekGaming I contacted Dave and the only thing different that he recommended was to start Pilot2ATC to run as administrator. That worked except my microphone isn't recognized by Pilot2ATC. It is recognized when I use Xplane- I'll have to try and figure out why mic doesn't work.

If you get a navigraph subscription, you'll get access to their fms data manager. This is an app that looks for apps that use their data and will update those accordingly. Pilot2atc is one of these apps that will get updated.

Hi, there is a SayIt feature. Once you're tuned in to the right frequency, look for the dropdown with the command you want then press the SayIt button. The voice will speak the command for you.

@@albinnilsson711 hmm tricky. Are you connected to the sim? There should be 3 messages appearing if you've connected successfully. Connected to the sim, Grammar loaded, and one more. If it's incomplete it might not load those. Try connecting and disconnecting again. If the problem still persists, I recommend emailing [e-mail] for expert help. Good luck!

Pilot2atc is updated via fms data manager if you have a navigraph subscription. Fs2020 navdata from navigraph is still in beta, though, and requires a different client. Mods list link in video description should have more details and links.

You don't need to select your msfs folder. You can extract FSUIPC anywhere in your hard drive.

The yellow text is something you (or your co-pilot) should say. Try pressing Say It if it does anything. If not, just pick a different command. Worst case, reconnect or close then open the app again to refresh.
