Very nice job. It's a pure joy to steer a 737 CL with its typical Vapp around 120-130 and a smooth response to the control inputs. A pure pilot's plane. They don't build it like this anymore.

@@CockpitScenes Slow? They have a normal cruise speed of around 400 kts
@CockpitScenes Жыл бұрын
@@Kelvin-ed6ce Normal cruise speed for a classic 737 is about M74-M75. A normal jet like the 727 (which first flew about 1963) and the 737NG cruises at about M.80. It is a real pain for ATC to slot a classic in with normal traffic because they are going so slow. But my point was not about cruise speed, but approach speed. It is much lower than a 737NG (except the -700), and that makes it easier to land. The 737 classic is probably the easiest plane to land I have ever flown.
@Kelvin-ed6ce Жыл бұрын
@@CockpitScenes wow, interesting. So the 200 and 100 series also have a very low speed like the 300-500 series ? Like 120-130 kts?

Flying cargo seems much more relaxing than flying passengers 😁 For a short flight like this, the pilot and first officer will probably be the only people on board. From those here who have flown cargo, do longer flights / larger planes ever have 'cabin crew'? Some have limited passenger capacity (747, 777, etc.), so could have cabin crew, but I'm talking about the pure cargo aircraft.
@justplanes3 жыл бұрын
It actually is a lot more relaxing to have no passengers on a plane :)
@KrakenUnleashed10 ай бұрын
There is no cabin crew, short or long haul whatsoever. On Long Haul flight/ wide body with a 747, typically you would have a crew of 2 or 3 pilots ( 3 for very long flight ), a loadmaster on board that would do the kitchen service (sort the catering boxes, put in oven) and one engineer (if needed in the case of not having dedicated maintenance at the destination to check aircraft and sign paperwork, he will help the loadmaster for the catering). On short haul / narrow body aircraft, if there is no loadmaster, crew is doing everything by themselves = just get their food when cruising, and if they are even entitled to catering depending of the flight duty time. They will always have drinks and coffee available of course.

When the plane is going down the runway on take off what keeps the nose wheel straight and stop it veering left or right?
@owmikati3 жыл бұрын
As already mentioned, on takeoff and landing, the rudder pedals help with small nosewheel movements at lower speeds and the actual rudder (yaw movement) at higher speeds. On taxi, the tiller is used as it provides the best maneuverability.
