Are the Pimax Crystal super part of the exchange program for the pimax 12 k reality?

Pimax keeps screwing around so nothing we are told actually matters, and a lot 'ends up' not coming true... like Pimax's execution of all of the 12K's frontier reveal and MANY products being released before it and even not all of those getting real long term support like the Crystal OG (Crystal Light basically takes its place), barely any support for Portal (let alone its VR mode, games for it, Android in general, the 'Retro' last ditch), WiGiG so far only working with Crystal OG (maybe 12K in a 'reduced' resolution/'upscaled' mode), their Sword/Shield VR controllers, barely/no 1st party Pimax apps/games for their Reality series, weird support issues, and the forever wait for if the 12K comes 'maybe' in 2025 (or just even more excuses for no GPU being able to run it.... just like the 8K X.) These 'updates' are 'okay' but, where is that hype for the 12K, and where is that pursuit of "VR 3.0" and how it has to have all elements of VR 3.0 to bring the next generation forward? Has even Pimax compromised on those values?

I think our feedback to do these types of videos really helped them get their act together. Previously it was a struggle to get them to communicate even on blogs. So kudos to the team for stepping up and bringing assurance to their customers.

guys, your product is amazing!!! I've ordered (through amazon) the Pimax Crystal tuesday and just got it this morning already (2days!!!) to replace my all so beloved HP Reverb G2.... it was a BIG WOOOOOW aslike a few years ago when I jumped from the rift S to the actual HP G2..... Damn, now we're finally at a stage where the image nearly reflects the screen... I just LOVE it, AMAZING product!!!!

You may have heard about it first from MBuccia, but it's not his work that is being continued here. Foveated Quad View rendering is something Varjo invented. It is natively supported in OpenXR 1.1. MBuccia just hacked into that render pipeline to add the feature to headsets that don't natively support it. Pimax headsets just need to that themselves, which will be better than what MBuccia was able to do. This is a continuation of Varjo's work, not MBuccia's. That's not to discredit MBuccia's. His work was amazing and I have no doubt pushed Pimax to probably do this earlier than they otherwise would have. That's great. The VR community owes him a lot. I just also want to give credit to Varjo. Credit where credit is due.

Honestly, taking the time to report to users or potential clients is amazing! Even if seemingly it may not achieve some groundbreaking success or sales, it DOES bring back trust between humans, which most companies have lost. I am so cinical towards greedy companies that I forget they are humans which want to be useful and produce good quality for the customers. Thanks for bringing back a more humane approach!

Always love to see these updates! I just got my PCL yesterday and the QC was perfect! No trouble at all getting it going. Excited to see the new desktop feature! I hope to see it it (and SteamVR too) be usable without controllers. Lots of us simmers don't use VR controllers; we just have racing/flight controls and sometimes a keyboard and mouse. I would love to see the power button on the HMD get repurposed as a controller button. Maybe make the power on/off require a long press. I'm coming from a Valve Index and it had a button on the HMD that made using the SteamVR menu possible without controllers. And since I'm in a cockpit with no monitors, I can't just take the HMD off to look at my monitor across the room.

I'd like to see user mapping for both buttons honestly. a/b from a controller would be nice for many many experiences. I'd love to map it to reset VR orientation on many games as that's the first thing I do when setting up and its really annoying when the UI is off in some random spot. I'm sure people would find uses for mapping it keyboard as well. I never use either button on the PCL and the normal active button doesn't seem to work most of the time.

I bought the Sim Crystal with no VR controllers. It's frustrating not being able to select things on a VR menu. You could select things with a button on the HMD in the Vive Pro I believe. They should at least allow us to select things with the Enter key on the keyboard or even the Mouse.

Hi Pimax, Could you clarify that RMAs have not been reduced by 95% via offsets in the number of refunds increasing? Does this RMA reduction also account for Pimax recruiting customers to make their own diagnoses and to fix their own headsets with replacement parts from Pimax such as lenses and DP cables?

Hello guys, glad to see that you are looking into the audio delay issue of the Crystal and fixing all the bugs that remains in the software. About this topic, I would like to share one thing: Lighthouse controllers ignore the settings in SteamVR about shutdown and power save. They always shutdown after some minutes if you don't use them, even if you have selected this thing Off in SteamVR. People complain that is annoying when they are watching films or are relaxed with friends in VRChat. Pimax software takes the control over controllers and they always save energy.

you're really making great process, pimax 😊✌️almost everything (be it easy usage of the hw, or the sw / fw, service, communication and more) is massively improved and now in some kind reminds me of old wine: it only gets better and better after time. I'm happy that I bought the crystal a year ago, I think choosing this company was a good decision 👌👍 which obviously is something I already thought a year ago, otherwise I'd purchased another product. thanks!

Is the crystal super still on track for the end of this year? Only a few months to go now, and would be good in next update to clarify how solid this date is. Considering crystal light when in stock on amazon, but also considering super, and of course, don't want to buy both. If super is delayed to next year I might consider getting Light when it's available on amazon. But if Super is due in a few months I would wait for that

The most important software problem that needs to be fixed in VR is dynamic foveated rendering. It has to actually work. It has to at least double the frame rate.

Question - will the upscaling improvements be ported over to the 8K-X and 5K series headsets? The Crystal doesn't interest me as I like the FOV of the 8K-X but I do notice that clarity of the headset suffers if running it at lower FOV settings. Full FOV gives the best clarity and having more recent Upscale tech to help with running that FOV would be great. Maybe if a lite version of the 12K comes out - I would be interested in upgrading my headset. Thanks.

Received my Pimax Crystal Light two days ago, have submitted multiple tickets as I have blurry vision, tech said it is a software problem that will be fixed later this week... As of right now I have a $800 lead weight that I can't use without getting sick from the distortion.

Are you going to re-commence production of the original Crystal? I'm mentally choosing betweeen original Crystal with WiGig module (and wide FoV lenses) OR Crystal Super for upcoming order. (Though, I really want 12K...) But I await reviews of the final Crystal+WiGig and Crystal Super before I can finalise my decision.

Do we know if seeing flickering lines and weird arbitrations in the lenses and the hot swappable battery no longer working is being addressed? The hot swappable option stopped working after the latest Pimax play update. Multiple Pimax crystal users have reported the same issue and this was marked as an issue to be looked into in the discord server.

I had to roll back my install of Pimax Play 1.28 due to connectivity issues that aren't in 1.18. I see that there is a 1.29 but I'll keep a copy of 1.18 just incase..

it's just sad that cheaper version of Pimax crystal light has in the MENU possibility to do upscaling directly - not for twice more expensive crystal ! Also since I own crystal for 15 months, Pimax still did not fixed the major and basic issue of height and calibration in space - most of the time I am too high or too low. I need to reset room setup so many times - some time I need to reset whole device.... and before every game do it again and again ..... so annoying !!!

I was really let down by the quality build construction of the crystal . The clarity is not that great even with liquid cooled 4090 rog and 14k series intel. Im sending it back a going back to the quest 3. If only we can get an American made Vr headset 🇺🇸

Another disgruntled customer here!, numerous faults on mine, sent back after numerous days an days of no reply on ticket, they have now awaiting replacement, giving it a week then I'm pursuing a refund.its been a pretty terrible experience tbh.

Tracking off, environments in games suddenly tipping over a axis while I stay still or other way round, uneven image over lens,ripple effect at sweet spot edge,juddering and studdering even in pimax menus,controller locking onto menu as if I'm pressing grip constantly, I could go on tbh....

Your ticket number will be the # xxxxxx number in all the titles of the emails you will have recieved with replies from Pimax Log into the pimax main site then support centre where you will see the tickets and ticket numbers you have created.

Sorry but your quality control is very poor. Received my Crystal light today after waiting 2.5 months. Left eye good, right eye blurry. Found that the right lens was sitting high and was very loose. Reseated lens and screwed in properly, seems to have fixed problem. Most of the people in the same shipment as mine have had similar problems or worse.
