A light bag like this is the solution when you either carry more stuff, e.g. presents, going somewhere, or returning with more than you set out with and your "normal" luggage doesn't have enough space in it. It folds up small when you don't need it - perfect! Thank you! ❤

In this video, using the French Seams technique may not be suitable for thick fabrics like denim or canvas, as it can make sewing difficult. For thicker fabrics, it is recommended to use hidden seam techniques instead.

Thank you very much for sharing. I sewed it in order to have a hand luggage for a lowcost company. The maximum authorised size being 40x30x20. I needed 1mx 70 cm, and the 'near-squares' cut have to be 14x15 cm. More generally, for a width W, a height H, a depth D, your sheet needs to be 2 times D plus to times H for its longer side. The shorter side is W+ H. The 'near- square' that you cut measure H divided by 2 on one side, and are one centimeter shorter on the other side.

Why no interfacing to support the bag? At least some sf101…. Great for flowing support that would still allow you to fold the bag.

I agree it could probably use some interfacing, especially if using cotton. Canvas could be used as well, or even denim.
