the feds dont have to work to disassemble black power nowadays, all they had to do was corrupt rap. rap was initially an underground thing that was an expression of black culture in an artistic way, an offshoot of jazz, blues, rock'n'roll all rolled into one. Using old funk music/jazz/blues music to rap over to express urban life. When it became commercialized in the late 90s, America realized it didn't have to enslave us directly anymore. They could enslave us on auto-pilot through rap, and they benefit in multiple ways. Rap a) makes its fans buy white-owned product and vehicles and etc , and b) it creates genocide in our community, and c) it makes us want to be stupid and not value education. We used to love education so much that the US Marshalls had to escort little black kids into newly-integrated schools. Now, it's cool to be dumb. Yes, in the 60s the Feds had to work against us because that's when we were preparing for the armed struggle if things didn't change. In 2022? Naw, we enslave ourselves happily to a beat. Rap is the new plantation. In the 60's, it was cool to be educated, and we fought for education and the right to be educated. Rap was made pop music for 1 reason; to derail the progress of the Civil Rights era, and because Rap is such a trendy form of culture, it prevents the youth from looking back. Kids know they live on MLK Blvd. but they don't know who MLK is, Rap teaches us that the past is lame and the future, the next trend, the next fad, the next hot thing is all that matters..which is like cutting the cord of the Civil Rights energy from linking generations together. So don't blame the feds, blame Rap and it's proponents. Slavery/Jim Crow caused black people to risk their lives for change. Do you see any movement against the new slavery (rap)? Nope. One thing about black folks, we will never criticize ourselves..we rather pretend it ain't happening (Just like when slaves were raped, the others looked the other way..didn't wanna cause conflict). We see our race promoting genocide through Rap, and we look away.
