Excellent, I'm planning to do this for my ceiling. Right now I'm feeling ok doing drywall walls but... I may change my mind lol. The walls I've done before aren't terrible but I can feel myself paying for mudding. Thanks for the detail! Oh, as for treating it, I follow Jeff @ Home Renovision and he uses a product out of Germany he swears by for indoor/outdoor cedar planks, wonder if that'll work nicely. Apparently it lasts a long time and the end result always looks good on video.

On my last project I paid for a guy to mud everything. Made a huge difference. It is a skill with very obvious results. I don't have that skill. Personally, I'm loving the pine. Trying to forget the cost.

You're forgetting the most important point about why you want to avoid drywall... installing it SUCKS. You're hauling heavy boards, they break, there's mudding, there's sanding... huge PITA. Good call.

No vapor barrier required?

Nope. But foam needs fire barrier to be legal in my area.

The finish trim you mean? I haven't gotten there yet. This summer perhaps.
