The Pine Valley Mountains are located in Dixie National Forest about 20 miles north of Saint George in southwest Utah. In this video we take a relaxing scenic drive through the town of Pine Valley, then through the Pine Valley Recreation Area in Dixie National Forest, stopping along the way to view the Pine Valley Reservoir and taking in some beautiful views of the Santa Clara River as we hike along the Santa Clara River Trail.
This video was filmed in late May, 2021.

Very relaxing to watch the video! Is there an entrance fee to get there?
@AdventureEveryDay
@AdventureEveryDay 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is an entrance fee required. I believe it’s $6 for a personal vehicle, or $40 for an annual pass (which is valid at other National Forest areas).

@@1397304 You’ll want to check the USDA website before you go to make sure it’s open if it’s approaching the winter months when you’re planning on visiting.

How busy was it in late May? I am going to be there the week before Memorial Day.
@AdventureEveryDay
@AdventureEveryDay 2 жыл бұрын
Late May should be a nice time to visit. We’ve noticed that Pine Valley is busiest when it gets scorching hot in Vegas and St. George, and late May usually isn’t too bad yet.

@@AdventureEveryDay Perfect, I am road tripping from NJ and hitting Dixie, Zion, Bryce, Glen Canyon and the Grand Canyon and hoping it's not crowded!

@@TheJackPrice Hopefully it’s not bad when you come out! Sounds like an epic trip! If you end up driving on Utah Scenic Byway 12, it’s worth taking a detour down Hole in the Rock Rd (a dirt road) from Escalante, UT to Devil’s Garden and exploring around there. You’ll almost certainly have the place all to yourself.

To get there, follow highway 18 north; just past Veyo, there's a light bulb on the telephone pole, turn RIGHT there (fire station on left after turn); follow on in the community; on the right side at the junction, is the post office (worlds smallest) and old Mormon church, built by a shipright (they have tours); make a LEFT up into the campground area. Be aware, wild animals wander thru the campgrounds every evening (deer, skunks, raccoons). Plenty of fishing in the streams from small brook trout; further down at the lake, stocked, and escapees swim downstream. Outside the area, there are Cuttthroat trout; Gunlock has bass & crappie; Enterprise has a couple lakes and streams nearby as well. Great place to relax.
