here's somewhat of a personal story i have behind this song ... when i was in elementary school, i listened to a high schooler play a piano rendition of this at my piano recital. i loved this piece so much it inspired me to continue playing music, something that i might not have done otherwise. i forgot about this song after a while, until i heard something very similar to this play in a cafe just a few days ago. that somehow jolted my memories back to this piece, and after finding it on here it's just as inspiring as the first time i heard it. today, i'm a high school senior, hoping to play something just as beautiful for a final concert. dear girl who played this at my piano recital, about ten years ago: if there's any chance you're out there and you still listen to this song, thank you for playing this.

This isn't my favorite Touhou song (although it comes close!). But still... But still, out of all the music in these games, Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke is the one that best holds in its melodies the feeling of Touhou, and in it lies the emotions that the majority of the games try to evoke. It is the song most embodying the spirit of the Touhou Project.

Out of all the ost until this point on the saga, Mokou's theme is a special case in the game. It's intense, it hits hard, it has a long build up, and really REALLY gets you on mood. And hell Mokou is a tough extra boss, with really tricky geometrical patterns, very original and disjointed attacks, makes this battle a one much more memorable
