when i first discoverd this song i was in an uber, on my way to school on a saturday because my girlfriend and i had a heavy discussion about my erractic behaviour, and just when the lirics come in i get a message from her telling me its over, and that there was no mending to our relationship, the dreadfull and remorsefull feeling of loosing the one i saw my life with, was like nothing i ever expected, but at the same time i remember feeling peace and relif that it was over, those nights of not knowing what to do because i was so messed up, the guilt i felt when ever i made her cry eaven when i didnt want to, it was all over, this song meant the end of something so wonderfull and beutifull but also the start of my journy to being a better man. thats why i love this song. it changes you

This song could fit so many things. I imagine a teenager blossming into an adult realizing life isn't as great anymore. My birthday was 5 days ago. I'm 33 and I feel this comment a little too much. I'm an audio engineer and for the last couple of years if sound wasn't absolutely needed, I didn't want it around. Driving? radio is off. sitting at home? TV and stereo are off. at work? radio is off. I don't even own personal headphones anymore (mixing headphones stay on the console and I rarely use them. tracking/iso cans stay in the booth and I DON'T use them except to test them) and I haven't picked up an instrument for anything but work in years. The music and sound that guided and comforted me throughout my life held no comfort at all. This song (for whatever reason) I do care about and I don't know why. I also don't care. I'm just glad I do. Happy belated birthday and I hope that you, I, and anyone else who needs to can find their way back to who they feel they lost of themselves. Here's hoping that person is still there.

Such a profoundly sad song. At this point in my life, listening to this makes me think of all the times I should've shut up. Or times I could've been doing something productive with my time. Wasted opportunities. Wasted relationships. I can't help but feel the weight of all this loss and knowing I will lose more soon. Its frustrating. I don't know how I'll take it. If I'll be emotionally able to react at all. But the music we share and cherish, like food, can bring people together, and I will never forget what I learned.

@TheoCynical
@TheoCynical 3 ай бұрын
You may have failed but it’s not the end.
@TheoCynical
@TheoCynical 3 ай бұрын
@@breadley I’ll step in if that’s alright. Here’s some. Ahem… *The aimlessness doesn’t necessarily go away but you do become more aware and confident so you get more comfort in moving throughout that aimlessness with hope. *Advice: check your shortcomings and maybe go to a therapist to help you with your blind spots. *Have a set of soft goals and some longterm ones. Things to do. Some idle time is good but too much isn’t. *If you don’t know what you want to do, trying taking a career assessment test like RIASEC or the Holland Codes. That’s _some_ direction. *Sometimes it’s okay to be bored. It’s a great opportunity to build creativity when you can tolerate it. *Its hard but learn to drop your phone; or utilize it into your hobby that doesn’t require direct usage of a phone. *work on your cardio or full-body exercises. It will build your stamina. *Don’t beat yourself up so much. Give yourself grace. Be kind to yourself, be good to yourself. Take care of yourself. At 20, you will shrug off so much but when you’re 30-something, it’s just slower to rebound. * Take advantage of your athleticism right now. You’re far more durable at this age of your 20’s so building more fitness will be helpful and boosts your mood too. *By the time you’re 30, people generally will maximize their priorities and you may see less of your friends but that’s okay. You might miss out on some friendships because of the busyness and that’s okay. During this time of confusion and the life brimming at this time, you might be tempted to think this time of your 20s will be longstanding, it will not. It’s not to be feared but 20’s is the prime of your youth. You can do whatever you want and go wherever you want. When you’re 30, you can still do so but you’ll be understood to be…too old for functions you used to do so I encourage you to maximize this time and then start planning your future longterm & seriously late 20’s. *When I was in my 20’s I didn’t necessarily believe my Uncle when he told me to take advantage of this time because I kinda thought the transition wouldn’t be as abrupt as it was but…it was. So I just don’t want you to be startled. *I hope during that time that you won’t be too hard on yourself but also be willing to embrace all that life has to offer. *Another thing, venture outside (if safe) the vitamin D is good for you. ---////----////---- The movie Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is a great movie I’d recommend. And How to Train Your Dragon Trilogy. A good Coming of Age story.

This feels like the end credits to a really long and hard story. The main character went through trials and tribulations, met new people, burned bridges he never thought he’d see gone, and entered a new chapter of their life. As they stare out into the open sky, they realize that there’s a whole lot more life left. More moments like this that are gonna happen. More heartbreak, more joy, and more dazed and confused emotions to deal with.

It's a little bit of gatekeeping, and a little bit of wanting to feel like you're "in on something". I get it a little bit, liking a band no one knows about, for one song to get huge without going through the process of loving the band you did. But when it comes to music we just have to make sure and check our ego :). the music is for anyone who resonates with it, however that may be.

This song hits a bit different when you discover it after you’ve crossed 30. For me it’s not so much sad but it makes me reflect. I go visit my hometown pretty often, it never changes, never gets bigger, it’s the same as it’s always been. This means I see all my old haunts, my old stomping grounds and travel the roads me and my buddies walked all the time. It’s all still there but it’s not the same emotionally. There’s nothing there to care about, quite literally. The only thing there is is memories. We’ve all moved on, got married, went our separate ways but there’s that little part of me that misses all the simplicity of those old times. Staying up all night, talking about everything, watching stupid memes on old KZbin, gaming or browsing 4chan all night. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade what I have now for anything but God I wish I could go back in time and experience those days one more time. My advice to all of you youngin’s is this. Live your lives and have fun while you’re young. Get it all out of your system, make some mistakes (just don’t land yourself in jail) and most of all, get plenty of pictures and videos. Life changes for you one day, not in a bad way but different than how it once was. You’ll see when you get there.

@@ShweatyPalmz life goes fast and before you know it you wake up and you’re my age. Again, it’s not sad or anything to dread. It’s just life but I’ve learned that as long as you can say to yourself “I’m sad that this chapter in my life is over but I’m happy that it happened” then that’s what really matters. It makes for some really great stories later on in life. Oh! And one more thing, 23 is young you’ve got tons and tons of time left to figure things out. Take it slow, live your life and don’t worry about what everyone else is doing or how far they are. Go at your own pace and you’ll get to exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Starting with "I'm out", the way it is said invokes a feeling of being so done with what life has to offer that it is almost comedic life and the individual questions why they did not give up earlier. The next verse "there's nothing here to care about" really sends this home with a feeling of acceptance, as this is the way the individual's path intends to be. There is no anger or sorrow, rather beauty alongside such a solid understanding that nothing could ever be cared about. A pause is followed by them asking "what's that sound?". A song catches their attention…. They wonder what it Is about. The pace of the song begins to alter to more intrigue. The attitude from the beginning carries over with the statement "it's nothing worth me saying aloud", so then… why would they seem to need to mention the story of the song when it is not worth mentioning? Well, if you feel it is worth mentioning, it has some worth to you, yes? See when you least expect it, things will happen to drive you, inspire you, and glimmers of hope will appear for you to reach. Resources, people, will show up in your life that could never if you were gone. Billions of people on this planet, and out of all the times to be alive I am here and you are still reading this. There ARE things to care about. If anything is a guarantee, it is that this life is a window of opportunity. Songs can give different messages to anyone. The uniqueness of us all is the reason why we should all speak aloud. The repetitive background is indeed the shuffle of life that we all are a part of. And though we will all fade away, let us live this like the fade out comes tomorrow. I love you all, your successes, flaws, and mistakes.

This song feels like the middle of summer when you're 12 or 13, on the cusp of your teenage years, an era that film and tv have warned you will be the most turbulent and life altering time in your so-far limited experience. You feel the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze caress your face, and in the back of your mind you're preparing for the next few years where it's going to feel as if the weight of the world is on your shoulders, and a wave of melancholy chokes your heart as you try to push down the knowledge that this is the last time summer will ever feel like this. You're gripping at the last strings of innocence. You will never feel this free again. The sun will never feel this perfect again. The world is about to get so much scarier. But for now, just enjoy yourself. Feel the breeze and taste the strawberries.

To me, this feels like the most appropriate theme for a character who finally has an understanding of what they truly want and why they’re not happy with the way their life is now. They also take time for themselves and self reflect on how their actions affect others and themselves. Or maybe it’s because they’re always trying to help everyone around them but no one is there to help them… It doesn’t take long for them to realize that maybe they don’t “fit in” anymore…. Maybe they never did… 1:52 - And so, they start packing their things without anyone noticing and take their leave, but not before leaving a note about how they are feeling and that this is what they want. It’s like what that doctor said to Peter in spider-man 2: “Listen, you always have a choice, Peter.”

Because there's no second verse, a baby chorus, etc... that's my guess. Also, good songs are always easy to hit repeat on. :)

Hidden gem. Can't hear it enough. It stuck so deep I had to learn it and play it and sing it out. Still is echoing. Hope it stays forever.

Not only do I love and resonate with the music alone, but the lyrics I seriously relate to deeply; just this line alone, "it's nothing worth saying aloud," I can really feel; it's as if this song were characterized by my whole life.

This song is about everything and nothing at the same time. Every feeling you ever felt but none at all. This song sounds like years and years passing. It relates to everything because it just is. Im glad i heard this song

I’ve been listening to this song for 43 years. Many would claim that I was the first one to listen to it actually. I’m glad it’s finally getting the recognition it deserves..

I love seeing comments in my favorite peace’s of music and see people explaining what they feel when they listen to music. It makes me so happy people are feeling the lyrics and really expressing themselves with music. I love this song and I hope you do to ❤

This song reminds of when I moved out of my parents household. I feel such a big rush of relief. I am finally getting my life together. The song text is also so fitting. "I'm out". "What's that sound?". I am gonna be alone ... solitary ... on my own. And that's just what I need. I need to fix my own situation. And this song just pinpoints it so greatly.

I listen to this song through two lens. One clouded with shame of my path, ashamed about who I once was. My actions, my mistakes, my regrets all come out. I feel disappointed looking back at who I was. My eyes were clouded with greed, selfishness, lust, and want. Or I see it through the eyes anew, someone who can reflect on my past mistakes. Someone who has grow as a person; a being, and became a person I could've only dreamed of. Now I try, I know that I amongst other deserves life. This beautiful gift given to me by god, a simple but amazing thing, and something that I can finally enjoy. Not something just to be thrown away. I now look back at myself with shame, wishing I was never that person. But I was, and if I wasn't who would I be right now. In this moment I sit and wonder, "how did my shitty life, become this amazing?" And I think the answer is because now I love myself, and others love me. I don't sit alone and not talk about how I'm feeling. I accept my emotion with grace knowing everyone feels like this from time to time, and I shouldn't feel alone. Now my life is better than ever, I found the love of my life, I started working out, I'm doing good in school, and most importantly I'm enjoying this gift called life. And you should to. To all who are reading this, stop sitting in your room, I know it may seem hard, but I trust you. Enjoy your life, and know that I'm proud of you. Even in your worse moments, I am still proud. Anyways, spread love, receive love, and just enjoy life. Bye now, and just know you are important and worth something.
