Like every other law, it only applies law abiding citizens. Yes I understand that if you run from the police, you aren’t law abiding, yet I doubt that it’s the first time breaking the law, although it does occasionally happen. Honestly I think it’s going to just cost taxpayers more money in lawsuits from banks that hold the lien I see no benefit from this

The Sheriff is setting his own penalty for a law he is writing? Where is the line between Fleeing To Elude and continuing to a better lit, safer location? What staute gives a sheriff the ability to seize and sell a car?

Let’s see, go to jail and keep my car. Or no jail, and maybe still keep my car if I get away. But if I’m in jail, I won’t have a car anyways. They will also impound it if I stick around, then I also could lose my license. Wait, why do people run again?

Civil libertarians!!!! On going gripes about the laws being too tough. Well when you become a victim (God forbid) you can show us all how forgiving you are. CRIME has to stop therefore punishment has to mean something. No measures to date seem to work, thus your abysmal statistics.

It has more to do with the fact that since we have access to as much uncensored bodycam video, we have learned that law enforcement can not be trusted to not abuse this.

Punishment can't be unconstitutional which this policy is. The sherif department will get sued every time they try this
