I never thought I would see the day that a driver would cost more than the monthly payment on my first home. Monthly payment was 435.00 US dollars. Of course that was in 1980. Just find the same ‘LST’ model or ‘MAX’ used head on eBay’ or somewhere.. and there’s not but 2% point’s performance 🎭 between 425 v. 430. Seriously, I just bought a 425 LST (head) Shipped from Japan 🇯🇵 #Cheap - Try sub’ $222 US 💵 And I can’t tell ..it was ever hit at all:)

I have the old G400 Max which I find really forgiving which is more important than 5-10 yards extra distance - I see you prefer recently the Calloway and stealth before but when you hit the consistency surely the Ping should be considered ?

Look, I would love to have one of those drivers, but I’m not spending $600 on it. I still have a G400 Max. Want to know why? Equipment costs way too much. I’m going to use my G400 Max until the face cracks, which may be never. I’m not spending $600 on a club.

Yea for 1% gains I could play 12 or 15 rounds, which is a full summer worth of golf, for what a new driver costs. Also, unless you are a scratch golfer, dispersion on any given day could be anywhere. Some days I hit it straight, some days I'm working a little draw and some days I'm stuck open and fading it. The best golfers know how to adjust on the fly to get the best out of their round. Equipment can't fix all of your problems and I do t need to pay 600 dollars every year to know that. Dave your money and GO GOLF.

It definitely is way too expensive but there are ways to play the new Ping each year for half the price. Ping drivers hold their value extremely well in the 2nd hand market. I bought the 425 max brand new and then when the 430 came out, I sold the 425 for only like $100 less then market price and used that money to get the 430. I’ll probably wait for Ping’s next new line of drivers and not get the 10k but I know when that time comes, my 430 will still be selling for like $300-400. Hell, there’s even g400 still going for $200+ right now depending on condition.

When you show the distance stats, it would be nice to also show dispersion and strike quality/positions. In this case, it’s hard to see if the 10k is worth buying over the max as the numbers are almost identical!

I have been to the Ping testing lab in Scottsdale, AZ. Their driving machine can precisely adjust where the ball is hit on the face of the club to less than a millimeter. They can then measure accurately the flight of the ball, distance, direction, spin, and ball speed. The point is that it is completely scientific and technical. From this data, they can determine forgiveness relative to other Ping drivers and competitors. If Ping says this is their most forgiving driver, then I believe them.

Been playing the Max for awhile, like it a lot. I went over to the local golf shop and tired the 10k, it was def out performing the Max for me in distance (only slightly) but the forgiveness was amazing. I ended up ordering one after spending about an hour with the 10k vs the Max, getting more roll and release out of the 10k as well.

I traded up for this last week. I'm absolutley NAILING this thing. Out of 4 dozen shots, I pulled 2 left as hooks (when I miss, I miss left because I have a tendency to close my face on my downswing). The other 46 balls started left and then moved directly to the middle of the fairway. These numbers, plus the additional yards I'm getting from this, tells me that the face is adapting to my strikes, and I've never seen anything like this. Quite possibly the best driver I've ever hit. So, if you have some extra clubs you aren't using, and want a really happy driver experience, upgrade to this.

Surprised to see you got slightly more spin out of the 10k. In terms of spin its supposed to fit in between the LST and the Max. must've came down to strike location. If i wasn't custom fit for TSR3 just 4 months ago in September i would def give the 10k a try.

Best looking Driver of 2024 Qi10 finally a company that has the top line looking clean like golf clubs used to. Went and tested the top driver offerings (Qi10, AI Smoke Max, Dsrkspeed X, and G43010k) and wanted to like the Smoke and Darkspeed more. But the Ping ended up being the winner for me, the turbulators even grew on me. Found it to be surprisingly hot, even with range balls was easily reaching the 155-160mph threshold.

Would love to see this compared to last years LST. I love the LST but you definitely get punished on off center hits. If this doesn’t lose too much distance but gets you in the fairway much more often, it would be a huge step up. I also keep seeing the comments on the price of £600 in the UK. It’s $600 in the US which is the cost of all new drivers this year.

@@deanmccormick8070 Based on the numbers I saw from James (granted, I'm 51 and also low on the swing speed side) my opinion is no, I'm not upgrading. The only thing that might change that would be performance on off-center strikes. If you are generally finding the fairway all the time, the the extra MOI probably isn't going to impact you that much. This 10k MOI is really more about forgiveness than distance. You may want to look at the new Paradym from Callaway or the Darkspeed from Cobra. Those 2 drivers are all about ball speed and distance.

It's pricing itself out of the equation for me. I think it's experimental from ping and might be down to stock and supply/demand. They might know they are on to a winner. Will be interesting to see how many pros pick it up. I've caved 2 Callaways recently and wonder if the Pings are a bit more suited to 180+ swing speeds.

One thing to think about with this driver is that due to the forgiveness you can play a longer shaft. I believe there is a tour player putting on in play with a 46” shaft this year to gain some carry yards without sacrificing much forgiveness.

Having these clubs that have such a large sweet spot has it's benefits. But do they hurt your golf swing? Focus is the key to a consistent swing. An analogy I like to use is that before mobile phones I knew at least twenty peoples phone numbers in my head. Now I have to look up my own and have no idea what peoples numbers are. Can these clubs allow bad habits to creep into your game and then through your whole set?
