To anyone who has not noticed the importance of colour in their costumes. Deepika is wearing bright red colour outfit while Priyanka is wearing a bit dull violet colour outfit. It basically trying to reflect them as one as “new” and the other one as “old”. It has a metaphorical connection, Deepika’s outfit was chosen this colour to symbolise the new profound love and Priyanka’s outfit symbolises as an old love that got faded. This was explained by my dance teacher to her daughter and then she shared it with me. Its beautiful how colours can be used as a way of communicating.

The choreography is so intricate. Especially, the line in the start, "Mere angna main dekho aaj khila hai chaand", where Priyanka's (Kashibai's) chaand is on the backend while Deepika's (Mastani's) chaand is on the frontend. Kashi's role is more difficult to play than that of Mastani...bcz the role involves love (towards Peshwa), innocence(at the start of the film), hatred and jealousy (for Mastani), and pain. Priyanka absolutely nailed it. Her role has many variations, unlike Mastani's character, which predominantly portays love towards the Peshwa. Had Deepika been given Kashi's character, she might not have done it as beautifully as Priyanka (this is just my opinion... No offence at all. Deepika is a great actress!). Btw...Deepika's expression at 3:03...🔥💘❤

Bajirao married Kashi because it was arranged by his parents and true time he loved her. That is normal wenn you spend time with some one you start to like that person even love that person. But you guess forget something the are two different typ of love: one is your soulmate made for you from God himself that person makes your heart and soul full in every aspekt of your life and one is who only makes your heart full not the soul Mastani was Bajirao's soulmate and Kashi was his heartmate. You can say Kashi was his life partner but Mastani is his soulpartner even in after life they need each other.

My parents marriage was also arranged and they eventually fell in love but if my father cheated on my mom do you think that's excusable? Kashibai's role in this was absolutely phenomenal. I felt her pain to be betrayed and abandoned and at last when he was dying and his wife came for him he was still searching for mastani. That shit hurt man. Sometimes life makes you take decisions that hurt other people feelings and emotions that is life you can't go through life without hurting people. Arranged Marriages are also very common in Ghana and guess what most of the men do go in for another wife. It doesn't mean they are mean or heartless it just means they are humans. I am married i know that may be one day my husband will marry another woman (I know i will feel like Kashi did) but it will also make my life beautiful. I love everything about this so much!!! The music, the language, the dancing, the women, the clothes and jewelry...all so stunningly beautiful. Believe it or not, I actually learned this dance in a high school dance class. It was pretty difficult and exhausting, but SO much fun!! One of my favorite things we did in that class. For some reason I thought of it out of nowhere and just had to watch it, and I wanted to express my awe of this rich and gorgeous culture.
