It's a period drama, Priyanka is the wife and Deepika is the "mistress". Both love the same man, and Priyanka is coming to terms with accepting the mistress in her life and acknowledging that her husband can't live without this other woman... So Priyanka is bridging the animosity and by dancing with her she is welcoming the other woman.

Priyanka is the one who is sad in the beginning the one who comes in later is Deepika. Deepika is the 2nd wife of Priyanka's husband it's based on a historical incident that took place. So priyanka invited deepika to this festival as they were always cold to eachother but felt sad and sorry for eachother in a way. The dancing was them just putting aside evrything and just enjoying themselves.
