The Dark: Nature’s Nighttime World
For humans, darkness is menacing, forbidding, petrifying. It conceals the most dangerous and terrifying creatures on Earth, but it also holds some of the greatest, undiscovered mysteries of nature. Most animals are nocturnal, but they're seldom studied at night and rarely filmed in the dark. The Dark follows a team of wildlife experts on a mission to solve those wildlife mysteries. Braving the jungles and swamps of South America during the night, the team sheds light on previously unobserved creatures and strange behaviours, offering a new perspective on our wild planet.
Welcome to BBC EARTH! The world is an amazing place full of stories, beauty and natural wonder. Here you'll find 50 years worth of entertaining and thought-provoking natural history content. Dramatic, rare, and exclusive, nature doesn't get more exciting than this.

Caves are home to fascinating wildlife. I used to keep these beautiful extinct in the wild Simandoa cave roaches that were found only in a single cave in the Simandou region of Guinea. Hence the name, Simandoa. They're the only roach in the Simandoa genus, they're that unique. Shortly after their discovery, their one home was sadly scheduled to be mined for bauxite. Luckily the one discovered them brought back some to the US, where they survive today thanks to the roach hobby.

every animal is getting smaller and smaller to survive. not just animals, even plant do it so. in my village, in the time of my grandpa, there is huge banana, about 25 cm long and about 5 cm in diameter, we call it king banana. it will be ripen from little banana tree, bear fruits, dark green to light green fruits around 5 mount (it never goes yellow, so if you think all banana is yellow, thats racist, lol). but today, those banana king just take 4 mouth and it ripen already with only around 17 cm long
