"Another Brick in the Wall" is a three-part composition on Pink Floyd's 1979 The Wall, written by bassist Roger Waters. "Part 2", a protest song against rigid schooling,
At the suggestion of producer Bob Ezrin, Pink Floyd added elements of disco, which was popular at the time.
According to guitarist David Gilmour:
[Ezrin] said to me, "Go to a couple of clubs and listen to what's happening with disco music," so I forced myself out and listened to loud, four-to-the-bar bass drums and stuff and thought, Gawd, awful! Then we went back and tried to turn one of the parts into one of those so it would be catchy.
Gilmour recorded his guitar solo in one take, with no editing or mixing, using a 1955 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top guitar equipped with P-90 pick-ups. Despite his reservations about Ezrin's additions, Gilmour felt the final song still sounded like Pink Floyd. When Ezrin heard the song with a disco beat, he was convinced it could become a hit, but felt it needed to be longer, with two verses and two choruses. The band resisted, saying they did not release singles; Waters told him: "Go ahead and waste your time doing silly stuff."
While the band members were away, Ezrin edited the takes into an extended version, and had engineer Nick Griffiths record children singing the verse at Islington Green School, close to Pink Floyd's studio. Alun Renshaw, head of music at the school, was enthusiastic, and said later: "I wanted to make music relevant to the kids - not just sitting around listening to Tchaikovsky. I thought the lyrics were great - 'We don't need no education, we don't need no thought control' ... I just thought it would be a wonderful experience for the kids."
Some of the edits for this remix are what i would call poor, bad decision making IMO
as one of you stated The songs and solos have been snipped and edited as if the real fans wouldn’t notice. Literally no reason to do it....example 1:01
Other than those bad edits, shortened solos.....the sound and quality of video is good.

В 1989 году был мировой тур. Они приезжали к нам в "Олимпийский". Было 24 длинномера с аппаратурой, свет, звук, лазеры. Посчастливилось с ними работать. Концерт и репетицию смотрел с разных мест в зале. Впечатления на всю жизнь!! Особенно свет. Звук настраивал очень долго и тщательно, что всё всё слышали отлично.

Me too, I was born about 7 years too late. I never really cared for Pink Floyd growing up in the late 70's and 80's. (They were way over my head) I'm now in my 50's. Growing up with a mom who was a classical music teacher, it wasn't until my late 20's early 30's that I finally got it. Then, putting the music together with the lyrics, politics, and societal references. Amazing! For those of you that don't know already, research Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys. Life wasn't always sunny in California for that musical genius. Who is today's Beach Boys, The Who, Pink Floyd, Queen, Metallica, Foo Fighters?

It doesn't matter that the members have personal differences, they're human; incredible humans who for the love of music, have pooled their talents and gifted us with supremely enjoyable songs. I'm 71, have listened to them over 5 decades, never a dull drift when I listen to their songs, such wholesome rock music, ahead of its time. It's lasted this long, it has probably outlasted many hundreds of thousands of hits. Mind you their songs are not hits, they're lifetime music.

In 1979 or 1980 by nephew had a bet with me that Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall would be #1 I said Phil Collins In the Air Tonight would be #1, well he won Pink Floyd was #1 and Phil Collins was in #2. I love both songs and bands.

63 years old here. I was Jr. high when I first heard Floyd. Then in high school I got to see the Animals tour at Anaheim Stadium . I was also fortunate who had a friend come up with 4 tickets to The Wall 1st night at the LA Sports Arena. Pink Floyd played 4 shows only in the US . Two in NY and two in LA. I was 16 rolls back from the stage standing on my chair the whole concert. Was one of the greatest shows I have ever scene. Animals Tour was also one of my favorites. Love Pink Floyd and will be a believer the rest of my life.

My son was quite young when he introduced me to PinkFloyd. I loved all those many LPs that we both played over and over and now I’m 90 I still can’t get enough of this music. I play Floyd now regularly on KZbin via my Bluetooth aids . Such a pity Richard Wright left us so young being such an accomplished member of the group.

Первый альбом я услышал в 74. Это была легендарная ,,Обратная сторона луны". Композицию, где станок печатает деньги слушали многократно... Потом не менее легендарная ,,Стена". Чудом удалось просмотреть этот альбом на видаке... Какая мощь! В тот год выстрелило много композиций, но ,,Стена" вне конкуренции. Восторг испытываю всякий раз, как слышу великую музыку, великих музыкантов. ,,Сияй мой бриллиант"!

I have said this since 1979 when I discovered Pink Floyd, "How? How can a band be this good"? I was in Architecture studio at college in the 1980's overnight trying to get a project done as usual. There was about 12 of us there, and someone brought this album in. We played it all the way through, and almost as if it was scripted about 4 of us said "Should we play it again"? Most said "yes of course" It's Pink Floyd!

"Another Brick in the Wall" is a three-part composition on Pink Floyd's 1979 The Wall, written by bassist Roger Waters. "Part 2", a protest song against rigid schooling, At the suggestion of producer Bob Ezrin, Pink Floyd added elements of disco, which was popular at the time. According to guitarist David Gilmour: [Ezrin] said to me, "Go to a couple of clubs and listen to what's happening with disco music," so I forced myself out and listened to loud, four-to-the-bar bass drums and stuff and thought, Gawd, awful! Then we went back and tried to turn one of the parts into one of those so it would be catchy. Gilmour recorded his guitar solo in one take, with no editing or mixing, using a 1955 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top guitar equipped with P-90 pick-ups. Despite his reservations about Ezrin's additions, Gilmour felt the final song still sounded like Pink Floyd. When Ezrin heard the song with a disco beat, he was convinced it could become a hit, but felt it needed to be longer, with two verses and two choruses. The band resisted, saying they did not release singles; Waters told him: "Go ahead and waste your time doing silly stuff." While the band members were away, Ezrin edited the takes into an extended version, and had engineer Nick Griffiths record children singing the verse at Islington Green School, close to Pink Floyd's studio. Alun Renshaw, head of music at the school, was enthusiastic, and said later: "I wanted to make music relevant to the kids - not just sitting around listening to Tchaikovsky. I thought the lyrics were great - 'We don't need no education, we don't need no thought control' ... I just thought it would be a wonderful experience for the kids." Some of the edits for this remix are what i would call poor, bad decision making IMO as one of you stated The songs and solos have been snipped and edited as if the real fans wouldn’t notice. Literally no reason to do it....example 1:01 Other than those bad edits, shortened solos.....the sound and quality of video is good. I had posted PULSE Full concert in 2 parts which was removed and also received a copyright strike against this channel. Uher de luxе , катушечный магнитофон с проигрывателем denon , из сан ремо в 1973 году , с футбольного турнира сосед привёз эти аппараты до сели не известные для нас, уже взрослых ребят, с десятком дисков среди которых была dark side of the moon. Соседу было 17 лет, получил эти подарки от нашего соотечественника и представления не имел что это за вещи. Записывать давал без проблем,хотя запись тогда была от 5 до 10 руб (( let it be , например на районе стоила червонец)
