“The Wall”, in which the protagonist Pink builds a metaphorical wall around himself to protect himself from the suffering of life, caused by traumas such as the death of his father, the abandonment of his mother and indeed school education. The song also has disco elements, suggested by producer Bob Ezrin, which make the song more catchy and danceable. This album came out the year I graduated 8th grade, heading into High School. Love it then and still love it today and will continue to love it for the rest of my life, along with Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Atom heart mother, obscured by clouds and of course Dark Side of the Moon.
