I've been listening to Pink Floyd since I was 11. The love for this legendary band was instilled in me by my late father. Now I am 60 years old, I have grandchildren, and we all listen to Pink Floyd together in the garden under the apple tree. They bring me herbal tea and cover my legs with a blanket, and sit next to me and listen to David Gilmour's guitar tricks. I don't tell them that listening to Pink Floyd is bad. I don't tell them it's good to listen to Pink Floyd. They have their own thoughts, and I will never keep up with them.

I've seen pink Floyd live 3 times, 1987, 1988, 1994. It was Surreal! I seen Waters live the wall 2012 Chicago, paid $250.00 per ticket for ground seats, it was a onein a lifetime for me, so worth it! The Wall was So much more than a concert, it was a spectacular theatrical production! Mind blowing! I was also lucky enough to see David Gilmour, tickets reasonable at market value, 120.00 piece, we were second level up from floor, stage left! That was Epic, Insane, and So Fricken Emotional! Many times during the show, Davids magical guitar solo's, his vocals, the energy, it made tears rolls and chills throughout my body, If I could have went to all three shows I would have! I'm so looking forward to Waters new album coming out! And his world tour to follow! I will be saving up for that! We want to get the best tickets possible! My love for Floyd knows no end! Thanks for sharing, I'm always looking for bootleg DVDS to add to add to my collection!
@chrisnation498 жыл бұрын
Well, that was in the days when Floyd and Abba, among others, were coining it so big that their money men were speculating on the global oil spot market. They got burned. But there were plenty $250.00 per ticket gigs over the years so they're OK. I have to say I was lucky enough to see them for free a few times in London when London was the epicentre of rock. 1967/68/69/70. Camden Borough Council, no less, headlined them at at a concert at Parliament Hill Fields Bandstand,. Later we had Fleetwood Mac - the real Mac, with Peter Greene. Floyd premiered Atom heart Mother at a freebie in Hyde Park. Saw that. went to sleep to "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" at The Bath And West Showground in 1970.... "Hey You" is a very weka song but Gilmore is supreme, it has to be said.

A great song , (though it might lead to depression and frustration ), specifically the haunting music, the lyrics, and the melody, it's about the longing for human interaction. The phrase "Hey You" implies calling out to someone (for example, "Hey you over there"). Following that phrase in every verse is a person in some sort of desperate or pathetic scenario. Most of these scenarios are pretty general but some are specific, for example, "You out beyond the wall breaking bottles in the hall," which gives the impression of a rebellious teenager, or "You standing in the road always doing what you're told," which gives the impression of someone who is very timid and indecisive. Following these scenarios in every verse is a question asking for human interaction, and as the song goes on these questions become more desperate in every verse: "Can you feel me?" "Would you touch me?" Can you help me?" In scheme of the album as a whole the song is about how although people put up their "Wall" to keep people out, they desperately but hopelessly long for real human interaction , it really knocks my socks off

It's so different being from a newer generation trying to get the full experience of these bands. My mom flew from San Francisco to England when she was 17 by herself to meet up with some friends and went out to a club one night with some guy where she got to meet Roger Waters and some of the Stones. She really grew up in the heart of the psychedelic era and got to experience it in its full glory (although now she testifies that a lot of the times weren't so glorious, ha). The caliber of musicianship displayed by bands like Pink Floyd is something seldom seen today unfortunately. But I'm thankful for uploads like this and an imagination.

Hello, I really like Pink Floyd ... This song brings back a lot of memories to me. It was my wedding slow in 1992. We didn't speak English !!!! Even if we didn't understand, we found the vocals and all your music and the girls' voices for other songs, they have a wonderful voice. THANKS FOR YOUR SHARING.

One slip.... era a turnê Delicated Sounds of thunder que meu pai tinha em VHS. a versão de Us and Them deste também me marcou.
