I don't know why people call roger waters a lackluster bassist. It takes a lot of coordination to play this and frankly, if you can get it right, it sounds awesome. Just like this guy!

Well to be realistic here (as I see it) this is the ONLY song I've heard where Roger is actually putting some real creativity and intricate structure in his bass playing. And not just merely playing the root bass to anchor the song down which is what leads to his playing to be boring to my ears. PF for me was always about the guitars and keyboards for me which was where 90% of the bands musical power came from and Roger always just seemed to sound like a 5 year old picking up the bass and plucking around for the first time. It's VERY amateurish! Now you can hate me for saying this but it's the truth as my ears hear it...and I've been listening to Pink Floyd since 2002 which is a LONG time for me. God how I WISH Roger put more trickiness and effort into his bass playing as much as he does IN THIS ONE SONG!!! This is the one time where I can say "Yeah Roger you're killing it man!!!" Everything else he has done before and after just sounds SO BORING!!! (And no I do NOT think his bass work in Money is spectacular AT ALL. I'm not a bassist but I've been able to play that song with NO EFFORT in the early days when I first picked up the guitar. I don't give a crap that "oh it's played in 7/8 though man!" Um, have you EVER listened to Chris Squire's bass playing with Yes?) Now if I'm missing any highlight Water's moments do list them off for me if you'd like. But be nice about my opinion that's all I ask ;)

I like his playing on Fearless, the little slides that fill in the gaps. It suits the song very well. The funky part in echoes (pompeii ver) is spectacular. See Emily play surprisingly has some cool stuff too. Revolutionary bassist...no but I do enjoy some of his live playing. The aggression and flanger of Raving and Drooling, etc
