There is no other group like Pink Floyd. At the end, David Gilmour tells the audience “Hope to see you again. Thank you for coming. Good night.” So humble and polite.

During the Division Bell tour, PF played a show in Houston, Texas, that unfortunately had to be cut short due to severe thunderstorms rolling through the area. I've heard a recording of it, and David is SO apologetic about the fact that the show had to be cut short -- he said something like, "I'm afraid we're going to have to love you and leave you."

This is a truly wonderful reaction. I was there at the concert and it was almost too much for the senses to take in. So many of their songs evoke so many deep emotions from people. The atmosphere was incredible. Sadly, no video can do justice to the stadium sized quadraphonic sound system which takes things to another level completely. Great reaction thanks.

This is an amazing performance, as is the whole Pulse show. I suggest checking out 'Sorrow' from Pulse next. It features another thrilling David Gilmour guitar solo. I was fortunate enough to see him on his solo tour in 2016. He was promoting his solo album, 'Rattle That Lock', but also played Pink Floyd classics like this, complete with a light show. He was 70 years old that year and still sounded great. I suggest also checking out 'Comfortably Numb' as performed on that tour (David Gilmour, Live in Pompeii, 2016).

The music of Pink Floyd is cerebral and emotional and the concerts were structured to be a memorable experience. The band members and their music have created some interesting milestones. David Gilmour is the only entertainer since 79 AD to perform twice in the amphitheatre at Pompeii ( with Pink Floyd in 1971 and his solo show in 2016). Also, their live album "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" was the first to be played in space on the Soyuz mission in 1988.

i missed pulse, but was at the MLOR tour at wembly stadium prior to this at the O2 Earls court, it was also a precursor concert with much of the same lights and circular screen, a flying bed and the wild boar, i have photos of this concert, and i remember it was amazing, i remember the comfortably numb feeling after it finished, because the experience is so amazing and so immersive and the band so humble that you are just left wondering what to do at the end of it, you just walk aimlessly to where you need to get home to, but everything is surreal and empty and heightened, as if you just witnessed the birth and death of the universe all at once.

Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS

For those who do not know where the name “Pink Floyd” came from…… Syd Barrett - original founder of the band had two favorite Blues Guitar Players in his record collection, two black men, Pinkney “Pink” Anderson and Floyd Council. One came from North Carolina, (Floyd) the other came from South Carolina, (Pink).

The drummer (Nick Mason) had to leverage his extraordinary collection of cars and his collection of aircraft to get loans secured to pay for this tour. They made their money back, but they started the process by going into debt. It was Nick and David's insistence that if they were going to do this project, they weren't going to compromise on what they were trying to offer the audience, which was a continuation of their long-held journey in appealing to all the senses in an organized assault to achieve a greater than imagined sensory reaction by each member of the audience. Two of the band members are architects by training, and their visualization of the use of dimensions to include space, time, and sound, combined with David's artistic genius, is evident in all the tours they have done since the beginning. I so look forward to seeing your reactions to songs like Great Gig in the Sky, Wish You Were Here, Dogs, Learning to Fly, Sorrow, High Hopes, Dogs of War, before getting to some very unique songs like Mother, Anyone Out There, Pigs on the Wing I & II, Welcome to the Machine.

They used to have the biggest and most expensive concerts in every aspect and all facets that a show can have. Michael Jackson came in second and he didn’t even come close to the amount of money they spent on their performances. When rock bands just had a black background with 3-4 white lights, Pink Floyd had lasers, lights , smoke, a prism and a big screen. Everything was perfection on all levels!!!
